Yes it does look wonderful, doesn't it? So much more character than the modern concrete and glass structures. I notice a great looking church where the Peace Gardens are now, does anyone know whether it was bombed or bullldozed?
Martin Kuhl?
During that time period we had a lot of players who were fucking fantastic earlier in their career but completely shit by then. In addition to Peters, we had Givens. Later in the decade we had Phil Thompson.
Peters still lives in the Sheffield area IIRC, but isn't in the best of health.
Yes. Must've been captain at that time.
The result was...
Bert's Gardener 1 Birds eating Chafer Grubs and damaging the lawn 0

Sacrificed to bring in Tony Agana if i remember correctly?
And Peter Heatherstone.
Yes, you may well say "who?".
Not quite sure why, but as soon as I saw that name (long forgotten), I thought he reminds of some of Clough's less successful signings. But I can't actually remember anything about him.And Peter Heatherstone.

Heatherstone was fine as I remember, played wide right. As someone else mentioned he was incredibly unlucky. Didn't play many games but hit the post or bar something like 7 times. I seem to remember one shot hit the post and the bar. Don't think he ever did score before leaving, but there have been far worse players than him.Not quite sure why, but as soon as I saw that name (long forgotten), I thought he reminds of some of Clough's less successful signings. My grandma was a regular customer at TwoSteps. In my view, it still does the best fish and chips in Sheffield. Some people think I'm a stick-in-the-mud.View attachment 33332 View attachment 33333 View attachment 33334 View attachment 33335
Bottom right was my grandad’s 1950s bakery, right on the corner
After going to Mr Wall's swimming club at Heeley Baths with Mum and my sister on a Tuesday night we always popped into Two Steps for fish and chips.I seem to recall it was a Mum and son that ran it.My grandma was a regular customer at TwoSteps. Christ! I'll never complain about the smog in Beijing again!
Here's one to give older Blades a few nightmares. But the interesting bit, is the old fence and gate from the pavilion. To think the great Don Bradman and others walked through that gate...
