Here's one to give older Blades a few nightmares. But the interesting bit, is the old fence and gate from the pavilion. To think the great Don Bradman and others walked through that gate...

During that time period we had a lot of players who were fucking fantastic earlier in their career but completely shit by then. In addition to Peters, we had Givens. Later in the decade we had Phil Thompson.

Peters still lives in the Sheffield area IIRC, but isn't in the best of health.

I reckon that's Don Masson. Silent Blade will confirm but I think that game was 0-0
Yes in February 1976. Stan Bowles said in his autobiography that Dave Sexton's tactics for the match was not dynamic enough and Stan said he reckons that Dave's plan for the match had cost them the league title at the end of the season

I still find this one amazing, circa 1920 -30. I wonder how much of this old stuff was bombed by the Luftwaffe and how much was simply demolished. More of the latter probably, certainly the old Electro works and the clearing to make way for Arundel gate or the infamous egg boxes etc etc

Shame, our City Centre could have had loads more character than it does now.

Yes it does look wonderful, doesn't it? So much more character than the modern concrete and glass structures. I notice a great looking church where the Peace Gardens are now, does anyone know whether it was bombed or bullldozed?
