I went on the 71 , platform A in pond street ,
also on summer holidays went long way when going to sheaf valley baths , City road , Manor top , Prince a Wales road , Darnell , Attercliffe , Wicker , into town then get off in Pond street ,
and all for 2p .

Anyone do this as a kid? Firth Park was crammed with kids in the summer holidays sliding down the grassy hill down to the stream on bits of cardboard. Kids going out to play? Whatever next!

That's the place my old man ( RIP ) used to take me as a chabby ,
before going to the lane .
My Father in law (rip) had the distinction of getting barred from The Bull ,the Alex and the ladys Bridge all in one night ,we had to go and get him out of the Norfolk before he descended on the Cannon and the Hen and chickens. He had been ok apparently all afternoon in the Big Gun. 2 of those left now ? or 3. They shut the ladys Bridge about 3 months later so he didn't miss much

That picture brings back memories of visiting my Auntie's who lived in one of the Maisoette type block of 4 houses back in the 70's...trying to remember which street now..She now lives in one of the Tower Blocks up at Herdings which is in the background...only 2 blocks now though...My memory is getting worse.

I reckon silent blade should go on mastermind, heknows bloody everything about United, any era, very impresive knowledge, however whats your general knowledge like, eh? ;-)
One of the few times I managed to correctly answer a Mastermind general knowledge question was when Magnus Magnusson asked "Which football team plays their home games at Bramall Lane? ". True story :)

Staff room is the ground floor bay windowed room. This is where the real school smokers were. Above staff room was Biology labs, then Physics labs and top floor Chemistry labs.

1966-1973 best days of my life.
I was there 64-69.... Sport - Brilliant! Academically I was shite!

Played for Sheffield Deaf from 1979 to the mid 1980s and I was the secretary for some of the years. Our home pitch was pitch number 1 at Concord Park. Have played at Steel City ground quite a few times

We were probably up against one another at some point during that time Silent.

I played for Firth Derihon throughout the 80's in the Sheffield Friendlies League and we played against Sheffield Deaf a number of times. Our home pitch was number 7 on Concord Park.

In the days before mobile phones... if you were unfortunate enough to be in town on Saturday instead of at the match, you'd find groups of men huddled around the Rediffusion or Visionhire shop window at 4:45, watching the videprinter on Grandstand or World of Sport as the results came in...

My mother used to work behind the bar at the Bull , she also worked in the cannon , she could have been the one to bar him . :)

Dont remember Firth Derihon. Must be before I left school in 1979? SDFC left the Friendlies League in 1984
