Name the 3 main players in this photo (pretty easy I think :))
Tom McAlister
Ted Hemsley
Birmingham City, Trevor Francis
Opening league match of 1972-73 season. Latchford scored first, Hockey equalised and Woody hit the winner. I was there

Dave Berry. Woodhouse lad David Holgate, best known for "The Crying Game" which could be our theme tune.
I played against him in a friendly at Gleadless Church when he was at the back end of his career. Pleased to say I clattered him twice.

That's my only claim.

My Brother in law used to play guitar in one of his backing bands in the sixties...not the Cruisers..I think he lives in Dronfield now...I think he described him as a decent bloke, but a bit tight when it came to pay day.

37,390 (I wasn't one of them)
At our following home match against Leeds there were 40035. (I was one of them). We lost 0-1.
It was Birmingham's first season back in the top tier since 1965

We lost 2-0 to L**ds by the way. I was on a family holiday in Filey that week but me and my dad drove back to Sheffield to watch the L**ds match (also seeing Brigadier Gerard lose in a race at York that afternoon) and then back to Filey

Brrr, I always shudder when I see a picture of that grandstand. 1975 anyone?

John Motson's Classic commentary 'a quality goal from a quality player.' Could have been followed up with ...'will be sold in 12 months time in order to pay for the building behind us.'

You're looking at the wrong image, I was referring to St Andrews. United fans got the mother of all hidings on that terrace in 1975.
