Gordon Banks, doing a J. P. Greaves at Filbert St, Nov1965, V Man Utd.

Good question.
Looking at the photo it would appear to have been taken in daylight rather than artificial light.
Both Blades players, played in both games, WHU players, obviously one known the other I don't know and cannot find any info on WHU players who played in each of their games played '71-72.
The other WHU player is key providing he didn't play in both games, if so it's down to the source of the picture.
Stand up ZLB, can you clarify the conundrum.
I believe it’s the League Cup defeat but will bow to Silent Blade and his knowledge

All the 4 players in the photo played in both matches. Like you, I think it was the league match

Apologies for the reference to JP Greaves and Gordon Banks creeping in.
I erased that yesterday when the photo wouldn't load in a post to Bert.
Creepy things these computers 'specially tut' old personages, at least this one.

Taken from Herdings Flats.
Can see Ashleigh Girls School, top right with sports field, where my uncle, often mentioned, was groundsman.
Leighton Rd centre left.
This is only Half of the "Valley", I believe Pommpey resided the other half.
And my Uncle Pete lived at Abney Close

Yes SB, I did call on the odd occasion, he and Joan were almost in Upper Heeley and there place was just yards from from Gleadless Rd on the very Eastern edge of the estate.
I still hold Pete in high esteem, one of the best.

Jim Bone of Norwich challenged by John Flynn. September 1972. I was there despite having missed the first 60 mins because the SUSC Dronfield branch had to wait for a replacement coach.
Did we buy Bone from Norwich ?
