Very enlightening, remember a joiner who had a hammer like that, before nail guns of course.
He would be OK up front as a lone striker, think CWAK could mould him into the system but don't think he would get in the lane carrying those tools not even the Kop. :)
Don't think this the chap is the equivalent of Vulcan, fire, smithy/metalwork. Thor, thunder, lightening and sacred groves apparently, think he was a mate of Adolf Hi*+"? also.

Who did they play against because for some reason seem to think it was a foreign team or maybe Russian and Lev Yasmin played in goal. All I remember was watching a game where the opponents goalkeeper was the big draw and definitely foreign. Help required here.
Bert can only think of one man who will know the full details........

I think you mean Lev Yashin. We used to have a song about Hodgy being better than Yashin.

Big fan of this man .

I remember being exited about the fact that we had signed him , having been impressed with some of his performances for Arsenal . My only reservation was that having played for them , he might come with a Billy Bigbollocks attitude and not perform to the same level . Nothing could have been further from the truth .

From day one , he played with a spirit and intensity that are the hallmarks of a true professional and these qualities coupled with a high degree of technical ability made him a brilliant acquisition in my eyes .

His main assets were the ability to link up play between defence and attack but then get into the box himself and score crucial goals .

Another thing I remember about him was his heading ability , for which he would often use a two footed take off and fly through the air at around 45 degrees , often with deadly effect .

A Colin Addison in his prime would be a wonderful addition to the present day Blades squad .

If I close my eyes can still see his back heeled goal against Hull . Scored right in front of us. Great player.

Aye aye aye aye
Hodgy is better than Yashin
Mick Jones is better than Eusebio
And Wednesday are in for a thrashin'

Latterly Mick Jones was replaced by King Tudor
:)
