I’m sorry I was completely bolloxed that day a good mate got me home
Ah! that's a Cracker
Where was this pub 'alleged' to have been situated? Genuine Question, and I'm the worlds worst speller, believe me.
Anyone care to speculate what the guy on the right with his hand deep in his trouser pocket is thinkingIt's Ralph Coates with one of the McWhirter brothers just in behind.
Looks like one of them holiday raincoats could be useful that day SEB
Also, a proper STD bus stop.Spot on.
Was it the 42/53 bus stop next to the street map? Also, a proper STD bus stop.
I've now seen a fair few photos of this view sent in before by various posters and I've probably missed many more. They've covered a fair few years as well.
I thought I'd add this one to the collection.
Taken May 1988.
As many will know, where that tree is in the foreground used to be where the street map info board was. Does anyone have a close up pic (of the board )? As kids, of course, the game was to light up the most bulbs by pressing as many of the buttons as you could at once.

Yes, I believe it was KS, although I was an Inner Circle 8/9 (platform A) lad myself. Was it the 42/53 bus stop next to the street map?
George Utley, Bill Cook and Stan Fazackerley. Where at?
Bloody Hell. They're the biggest bunkers I've ever seen.

And this is the view nowMore commonly known as Springvale or Commonside now, with the Steel Bank name seems mainly confined to older maps.
Springvale pub on rhs still there, but a bit 'local'. IMHO the much better ale choices are at Stancil's Closed Shop and Thornbridge's Hallamshire. Both 50 yards up the road on the near left of the picture.
I did a management course on the second to top floor in there in 1989 and there was a mini earthquake. The building swayed and the lecturer just smiled like it was a common occurrence so we just carried on. Wasnt until I read next days Star that we knew what had happened.Did part of my YTS in Sheaf House in 1987. Payroll office of Area Civil Engineers office....
Christmas Party in the telecoms office next to the curvy bit - old school - everybody pissed while working.....
Fond memories
Not the beach. I was referring to the players coming out of the tunnel, it was the 1914 FA Cup semi final against Burnley at Old TraffordSouthport
That apparently is White Hart Lane.Harris's Sausages and Oxo... would prefer them over 500 generic Chinese betting firms and that fucking Vitality ad with the dog any day!
White Hart Lane?
