Old Photos For No Reason Whatsoever

The first one is at the junction with Greenhow Street, the second one I'm not as sure about.
If it's the one with the 'Persil' sign, that's Crookes,at Stothard Rd/Northfield Rd junction
The Punchbowl pub would be a little way behind the photographer (or would have been :()
Incidentally Carracks was a paint and wallpaper shop and also where Paul Carrack the rather famous musician grew up.

You got your pick and you started stripping the lead. Ideally your hob nailed boots wouldn't be too slippy....
But a bugger to build up any speed if you had to leg it down the street with a roll of lead tucked under you arm :(
