Ogbene

MOM Saturday according to the Star - not sure which match Danny Hall went to assuming it was him covering it.

He doesn't take anyone on. He's not as quick as expected. And he's shit with the ball.

He isn't remotely solid enough defensively to make up for his nothingness going forward.

Send him back in January, and until then play Seriki until his hamstrings pop. A far superior player.

Ogbene post-injury should serve as a warning to those clamouring for the return of Harry Souttar.
Arblaster as well. He will need so much time to get anywhere close to what he was. Been there myself at his age, obvs at a much lower level (step 8 as it is now) but is takes something away from you which I never got back. I was out for 14 months with ruptured ankle ligaments plus same ankle was broken.

I don't know his actual position, never seen a player that has been picked internationally at LB and RB and CF and with his club plays RWB/RW/Who the fuck knows
When it was at Rotherham he was a goal poacher and had pace which is even more bizarre given his form so far, I know he had an injury and all but even so

Play him up top then?!

I'd play him through the middle. We're short of an athletic and fast striker. Gerrim up there running the channels instead of Cannon....

I think I'm in a minority of one here, but I don't get the pelters Ogbene is getting.

In a squad devoid of quality and creativity, he at least tries to advance the ball, run his man, carry, take on his man. Course he's rusty, and yes he loses it more than most, but that's because he's trying to do something in the first place, over recycling possession.

He had a huge injury that many never recover from. It's unlikely that even if you come back you're ever the same player. Only a highly naive or desperate club would've signed him. I actually class his performances as 'better than expected' which says everything

So Ogbene has won the coveted "scapegoat of the week" award?
Much rather have a player who tries to make something happen than some of the cowardly keep possession shite we've got used to.
Yes today from 6 possessions he was absolutely woeful for 3 of them but he also got 3 decent crosses in with the other 3 possessions. One of those crosses produced our best chance of the 2nd half.
I'd much rather that than 6 play-it-safe back passes.

It's not about scapegoats mate, he's fucking terrible. One trick pony who average defenders suss out after his first touch (him and Barry are peas in a pod). We need better, he's consistently below average, doesn't change the game and needs to go back to Ipswich as soon as.

For me he's better than brooks but both aren't brilliant
Not saying he's brilliant; he clearly isn't but agree I'd prefer him in that position over Brooks who continually kills any attack by cutting inside due to the fact he's no right foot.
I'd rather Ogbene lost possession half the time if he can get the ball into the box for the other half. At least the ball is progressed forward.

Agree about playing Brooks on the right, he's not great on his good foot but he's a waste of time playing him on the opposite side.

I agree Kozzy. At least he's willing to take a man on and try and get to the byline.
