We'll obviously not get an official statement from the club to explain this but if any local journos are reading the forums can then make sure questions about finances and investment are put to the chairmen and manager?

It's one thing having no money. It's another to be led on to believe you have and then promised it will be spent.

After reading your previous posts how come you are now stating you believed the club when they were
saying they would spend money?

Nothing from the club's official sources except the departures.

Virtually nothing from the local journalists - only Giddings saying the club was "trying".

Adkins will now just get on with his hard working professionals but how bad are the finances and what is the current state of the relationship between the owners ?

As Bob Dylan says "when something's not right it's wrong".

What is going on ?

Wonder if Jim will return in mid February and return to twitter ? Wonder if they've all taken their bats and balls home ?

To paraphrase Mulder: "I want to believe."

I didn't expect barefaced lies. I expected to be let down mind. Used to it.

I hang my head in dismay, I feel sorry for my fellow Blades, who said we are used to being shafted. Feckin pissed with Adkin's now as well as the cheap inadiquate owners. United together my arse

Looking back, Adkins comments last week about us "hoping" to add to the squad, told us all we needed to know. His positivity towards the existing squad might be annoying, but its decent man management, because he'll have known we were possibly not going to get anyone, maybe he knew all along but couldn't say. We need a statement of what's happening re lack of spending, that's for sure. People in the club at the top know what's going on but aren't letting us the fans - the most important people in the club, know what's going on. I thought with Phipps that had all changed, but clearly even Jimbob has gone quiet, presumably because its too early to say, but if its going to be a divorce, or the relationship is on the rocks, it would be nice to at least face the music. If so, I'll miss the "game changing" investment" for sure!

I don't blame the players for not being good enough, it's not their fault.
I don't blame Adkins, he clearly hasn't had the backing he expected and by god he's tried to get something done this window.

That leaves one person or persons to blame...
Can't wait till the board fuck off. Lot of em.

Me personally, I think they'll sell up I think Jim and HRH have had enough hence no money being spent, come the summer Adkins will have gone and the club will be up for sale or at least a percentage of the club may be Jim is away looking for a buyer.

Perhaps I'm turning miserable as its past my bedtime.

Adkins, to be fair, is probably just the puppet in all this. I think he's doing his best to keep the bad ship United from sinking.

Can't even feel angry about it, I totally expected it to go this way, I am rapidly losing interest In United after nearly forty years.

As someone said on here the other day they are turning us into a Sheffield version of Port Vale. Clearly the Prince has lost all interest and will walk away, McCabe Will be be back in sole charge in the summer and the next item on the agenda will be selling the Lane and the "community stadium" with Sheffield Eagles with raise its head.

My Official statement 'I promise to buy my 2016/17 season ticket, honest I will, I will I promise.

Can see Adkins walking soon. I supose that will cheer some up, but I see no better options out there.

If so it will echo Spackman's and Bruce's resignation, although not totally the same. I hope not, and Adkins did say pre season we had the 5th or 6th biggest budget much to everyone's surprise. I don't see Adkins walking myself, but only time will tell.

He's been pretty silent over the last few days. I think the truth has finally dawned on him. I'm guessing he knew already, but was hoping to at least bring a couple in.

I can't think of a manager I've been happier about when he was appointed. I'm now convinced he'll walk. And it will eventuality mean we exit League 1 through the poop shoot.

You've been let down because you believed lawyer speak Robbie.

That's my point though. It wasn't. It normally is but both manager and Board have made clear statements of intent. That is mainly why I'm so surprised.

Adkins speaks as a manager, as you'd expect.
Jims nonsense statement about transfer fees actually being " investment" by the owners set the spidy sense going. That was desperation point along with another year of big losses. Then there was the whole shambles being blamed solely on Clough as if they weren't aware of what was going on.

I think the fact that we were linked with virtually zero people means we were never going to get anyone in.

Whoever's got the biscuit tin key, they sure ain't letting anyone else have it.

No longer shocked or surprised, disappointed or exulted about SUFC, a battleship-grey acceptance is all I can muster lately.
