It's a lot of money but I can't think of any other (realistic) signing that would have such a net positive effect for the club as a whole.3.5 year deal just confirmed on radio pig.
Keith Edwards says why would you have a Merc outside a terrace house. Like keeffff but today your a knob

He actually looks like the Brayford mask in this picture!
That's the answer - it's Alcock behind the mask hoping he can get a game!He actually looks like the Brayford mask in this picture!
Amazing!!!
I bet some still find a way to slag the club off though!!!

Great news - hopefully he will have the same effect as last season. I only fear that he's been built up so much that he'll find it very difficult to live up to expectations.
Some may not agree but United have done very well in the transfer window. If we could get O'Grady (or equivalent) then it will be a job very well done by the board. It's then up to Clough to ensure the players deliver.
Great post and my thoughts entirely.Amazing how 24 hours can turn years of misery on its head. Let's not rewrite history because we have had some awful transfer windows but this really does seem like we are starting afresh. I have been one to be scathing of the lack of ambition from the board previously. I am pleased to have my argument knocked into a cocked hat. The game has changed and it is utterly clear that Clough totally has the support and backing of the board.
Now Clough has nowhere to go if we aren't successful. He has almost all the players, he has investment above any other club in this division and he now has to prove he can assemble the team to win games in the league.
I am very happy to have been proved wrong. I am very happy to think that the last 24 hours shows everyone at SUFC is pulling in the same direction. As fans I think we all have to respond and do the same.
Think they've realised holding back funds for Ched or do nothing options are dead so have decided to go for it. Shame that filthy Welsh get held us back so long!Amazing how 24 hours can turn years of misery on its head.
