Struggle to think he was the worst player in his team if he played with Jordan Stewart, let alone our worst ever player.
Huge, huge lack of respect to Connor Sammon to even mention Nosworthy in the same breath. Give shit credit where it's due.

His highlight being walking off at half time and giving the middle finger to Unitedites giving him dogs abuse.🖕🏿

Axel Smeets was worse by far! There's a name to remember!

Back 4 of Mattock, Lowry, Collins and Nosworthy was probably the worst I've ever seen for us. And for what it's worth, I think Mattock was worse than Nosworthy. Other notables in the shout for worst defender are Jay Mceverly, Jordan Stewart, Brian Smith, and Les Tibbott (whose performance in a 1-0 defeat at Stockport in 1981 made me think he had actually died and was being propped up on the pitch with a few props....)

He played 482 professional games - what about you Blackheath?
It's always a fair point, I like to throw it out sometimes as well. But in fairness to Blackheath he's talking relatively.

I remember seeing Nosworthy on TV for Gillingham and thinking he's terrible. Can't believe he ended up playing for us.

A lot more foreign imports since his heyday - standards universally raised (except at SWFC) so he'd get no higher than L2 these days, if not the National Leagues.

I thought Brian Smith was really good with a promising future until he broke his leg which finished his career.
I was only 10 at the time so wondered if others thought the same or whether 3rd tier (which we were in at the time) was his level?

Affectionately known as Kryten in our house due to the unpredictability of where the ball will end up if his head went anywhere near it.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more technically inept footballer playing for Sheffield United, which is a serious accomplishment when you think about it.

On behalf of Hilly; Nosworthy played 482 professional games etc

I once went to a conference at Gillingham and went on a hunt for the piss stones . Randomly strayed in the boardroom only to be confronted with what could only be described as a shrine to Not Worthy 🫣 I shit thi not

Are you going to ask the same question to everyone on this forum who has a similar view to mine?
Just you, you called him a 'shit show'.
Consider the number of coaches he has fooled at numerous clubs at every level since he was a junior.
If only these unconnected individuals could have had your foresight.

Tbh it was going to be him or Marlon King....

Save this argument for literally any other footballer on the planet: Nyron Nosworthy was beyond atrocious

Fair points which are acknowledged. Your defence of him is admirable, it's a pity his defending at Sheffield United wasn't as good as yours however.

Seriously and without wanting to stoke any fires, what was your opinion of him as a player?

My favourite memory of ol' Nyron was away to Warnock's QPR in the Adams relegation season, live on Sky. He was boxed in at his own byline and tried to do that clever little kick up over his head, but kicked it against his own face and conceded a corner.

I think he’d have made it. Maybe not the very top, but not far off

is this really the hill you want to die on?

Was he as bad as McEveley, Jordan Stewart or Luke Thomas?

Was also talking to a Preston fan who thought Matt Hill was “a solid defender”, my only memory of him is him scoring the winner at Brentford away once, did that actually happen?!
