Now Liverpool interested in Brooks.

Ok not sure what that means. Just wondered if you're opinion was formed having seen him last season. Or if you've based it on a handful of league cameos where he's done alright

For what it’s worth, I’m not overly impressed by what I’ve seen of him in a blades shirt so far (and I liked him from the bits I’d seen of him at other clubs). That said, it’s very early days and he’ll get his chance (I suspect) playing his ideal role against Ipswich with Coutts out. Let’s hope he can make the most of it.

Yeah i don't think he's been up to speed and has played out of position to an extent, but he's done a job, thought he did well on Saturday.

I thought he was OKish. But I also thought we were a worse side for having him in the side over any one of Wright (Bash in his position), Brooks, Clarke or Sharp (our usual formation). I don't dislike him as a player but he looks a way off displacing any of our first team to me. Like I say though, I hope he steps up and takes advantage of Coutts' absence against Ipswich.

You are showing ur age mate , all the youngsters have this hair cut , he looks like a smart young man to me , I would be proud of him if he was mine , but apart from that he is an outstanding footballer and seems to be a nice lad as well,we're lucky to have him , though if we still have him this time next year I will be amazed.

Bet you if he had it like TC it would put at least another 5 mill on his value (10 anyone?)

If I was Brooks, I would take a long hard look at what Harry did, play regularly for your club, get the game time, and the move will come.

I know it's easy saying that when a premiership club come calling and want to quadrouple your wage, but surely he'd be better off playing most weeks rather than stuck in the u23s at some club and farmed out on loan year after year.

Difference was, Harry wasn't wanted during the first few years with us. Being in league 1, he flew under the radar and didn't get the attention he perhaps deserved.

You have to think about the here and now...it's a short term game and long term injuries can occur at any period of your career. If anyone swapped position with the young lad and had 30k p/w waved in front of them...on a likely 4/5 year deal..... Who in the right mind would swap 7m for first team football when your net worth is pissall by comparison.

Answer - nobody.

I've been speaking to a couple of Liverpool season ticket holders about brooks. They've seen highlights of him!. They loved it when he turned the Wendy defender inside out and were impressed with his speed on the ball!!. I said he needs more game time and he will get that with us under wilder!!. They think Liverpool should spend money and sign him and then loan him back to us!. I said he's signed a contract and wilder will not let him go anywhere!!!. We all know what happened when Spurs did that with Kyle walker!!. Utb

Regarding the new contract: the odds are his agent will have agreed a release clause within the revised contract, allowing Brooks to 'talk to other clubs' if a provisional offer is put on the table. In effect, this means that the offer received will be accepted to all concerned - usually with a follow-on fee. It all depends on how much Brooks was valued at the time of the signing of the new contract. If 'he's going nowhere', then this valuation would/should have been put at a ridiculous level to prevent being poached. Maybe around 15 mill. Otherwise, less than this, then other clubs will rightly come in for him. If he goes, he'll be sat on a bench or playing in reserves for a couple of years. Absolute waste. It all hinges on his agent. Enough said.
