IF . Wednesday paid supposedly between 10 - 12 million for Rhodes and he's 27/28. and can't even get a full 90 minutes.
David Brookes is 20, Welsh international which will only improve his fee, and if Wales qualify for the World cup in Russia, Will this not only improve his value.
I would, if possible hold out until next summer letting him see that promotion with the Blades would make him a global not just a premiership target.
what would Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG pay for him. Best year yet to come.

I've not seen the article but can guarantee that Liverpool would not stump up a large amount of money for brooks!!. Their chairman is like levy at spurs!!. We would end up with the bad part of the deal!!. It doesn't matter how many clubs come in for brooks as we won't sell him anyway as wilder has already said!!. Utb

Luckily, we're in a pretty good position with him only signing a new contract in March of this year. For how long that was though I'm not sure. Silly money or no deal for me. However, I fear the powers that be will accept much less.

This situation will determine whether or not we have learnt our lesson in this department.

Make no mistake Brooks will be sold January , put your bottom dollar on it , its what we have done all our existence , the premiership it littered with our best players , that's why we need to play the lad now while he's still here , plus as a paying supporter I WANT TO SEE HIM PLAY BEFORE HE GOES !!!!

Well, Tufty has taken a very firm stance on this, and he won't like it at all if he's sold in January. That could be a bigger problem than the loss of the player in some respects.

The best chance of him being here longer is if we are clear top two in Jan with a good chance of hitting the Premier League cash jackpot this summer.

Although we are doing brilliantly I don't think we will be in that sort of position.

Liverpool joining Everton in showing interest in David Brooks according to the Sunday People.

As the season progresses I expect a few PL clubs to reveal their interest and a bidding war to start in January.

The thing is how much will he be worth by then and will we sell?

Will his head get turned or might he think he can reach the PL THIS season with United?

Wilder says Brooks will be going nowhere but if the bids are in the £15-20m region (and why not) will we hold out?

I can't believe what a player Brooks already is and looks like becoming. The influence he's had on the team this season is massive and dare I say it the play-offs or even higher might just be possible if he stays.

I hope he isn't capped at senior level by Wales because until then he's eligible to still play for England and imagine his value then?

I want him to stay and showcase his talents with US in the Premier League. How we handle the interest in Brooks come January will be pivotal to United's immediate future without a doubt.
Why would playing for England make him more valuable than playing for Wales?? Bale.........

The chances are Brooksy will play for the full Wales team very soon but he will never play for the full England team whilst in the Championship !

Because England only pick players from the top six clubs and if you're playing for a top six club you're valuable whereas Wales will pick anyone who's shagged a sheep.

Who gives a fuck about Liverpool every team in the premiership will be interested. He has already been rejected by Man City so if the lad has any sense he will stay where he is getting game time, he must have learned more this season than he ever would in someone's under 23 team. He will play in the Premiership either with us or somewhere else in a few years so no need for him to rush off anywhere.

More chance of winning something with Wales though, especially whilst Southgate it at the helm.
Hart, England's number 1!!??
Hahahahaha, hahahaha.
Oh and Wet Sham aren't top 6.

None of the top six have an English keeper so there isn't much choice there. Not a fan of Southgate either.

Fatty, re. your point about which national team Brooks decides to play for and the impact this has on his value - Bale was sold for (correct me if I'm wrong) £85 million and he's Welsh. I think the only thing that matters is the performance at club level. Of course, when Brooks gets his chance to play for Wales, it won't harm his value if he plays well!

I think a very large majority of posters on here need to give their heads a good wobble . 20 - 25 million pounds for Brooks !!!!!!

Be realistic guys and girls as all that's going to happen IF Brooks leaves anytime soon is you'll all engage in a full on wankfest in berating the Club for selling him below current market value ..... in your opinion .

He's made 3 ( three ) starts in the league .

He's yet to score in a league game .

He has potential right now BUT THAT'S ALL .

Hull City's Jarred Bowen is the same age as Brooks , he's made 18 starts and scored 7 goals already this season . Would Hull get 25 million for him if they sold him ? Would they fuck . They'd be very lucky to get a third of that .

Just enjoy watching Brooks and us play . It's a great time to be a Blade .

Yeah fair enough I accept it probably won't affect his value. It's just I'd rather him play for England, hopefully while still a Sheffield United player ;)

In previous times I'd have cast doubt on your view that he'd remain at United, but with Wilder in control, who knows? The one thing about appearing at international level is that the conversation between players of various clubs is that Brooks will learn what other players earn and this would sway his view of where his future lies, unless of course United decide to pay a ransom for his future services.

And don't a whole load of very expensive players originate from and play internationally for African nations?

Even less a fan of Hart at the moment.
Atleast Brooks will play for Wales and not just keep a coach seat warm.
I hope he makes it and does well for Wales, we need an international now we're top 6 championship....

Of course, but players based throughout Europe have far greater exposure, unlike their African brethren. Televised football is constant in the UK, so players are known quite easily, therefore it's far easier to see how good or ordinary they are.

I doubt Brooksey will move this season why go to a premier league club and sit on the bench or play U23’s football , when he’s a first team regular who when not starting generally gets 25/30 mins off the bench. A new contract might be in the offing but at a quess will suit both parties Brookes value will increase and we get a better deal because of the fee that would be paid in order to make a move appealing to him, Brooksey will look after himself by having clauses inserted into a new deal that allow him to move for a set fee or improve his contract pending on his achievements....all round it’s a win win really
