I try not to swear in these but thank FUCK for this thread. We were very good today and very unlucky.

Didzy - not his best game but some touches that were back to his best and shows how much we need him on song.

Finally zipping the ball around and swarming teams.

Egan. Our best defender by a mile and at the heart of so much of their play ready to cut it out calmly. £4m was a joke for someone so good.

Berge - best midfielder on the pitch even with 45 mins only being played. Guy oozed quality and shown why all the top teams were preparing bids for him.
Looked stronger. Held men off, popped the sideways to keep possession under pressure and put some very good balls in the box.
Much much much better!!

Our best defender is currently sat on the sidelines. That is for me why we’ve fallen to bits defensively.

But I concur he is fantastic and a steal at under £4mil

Agree that he's our best defender.. however I can't help thinking that others were to blame for the goal and general sloppiness of the defensive side of things.

Didz is loads better in the hole, time to turn and create rather than have a centre half on his heels all game. Looked back to his best when Sharp came on.

Egan was superb. He treads a fine line of getting close and stopping attacks dead in their tracks, without getting turned or rolled very often. We all miss JOC but Egan is always a bigger miss in my opinion.

I've gone from feeling sorry for myself for the time I've wasted and the bad mood I'm going to be in with my family for the rest of the day...
Back to feeling sorry for Wilder and a lot of our players, because they deserved a lot more from that game.

I'm not saying there wasn't poor performances and moments, but how about an entire thread dedicated purely to today's positives?

I will start,

Mcburnie - immense.

Despite the result, we played much more better. Dominated possession more, more players seemed on their game.

Despite the result (your always going to be pissed off if you lose the game in injury time), I actually feel quite upbeat. That's because we started for the first time sine the return from lockdown, to look more like our old selves. We are the perennial slow starters after a break and always seem tk take a few games to get back up to speed. I felt that we needed this game to get us back to where we need to be performance wise and with the injured lads getting back into the swing of things. Make no mistake that game today will have done Fleck the world of good.

I'm not exactly happy with the result, but I'm a lot happier than I was last Sunday and on Weds as I think we are starting to get back to being the United I know. Fuk the FA Cup, no more Cup games to have to fit in in such a tight schedule. Let's get some positive results in tbe league again, starting against Spurs.

Much much better when went to 4 at the back

McBurnie and Berge- best games they’ve had for us

A huge disappointment to go out of the cup today. A much improved performance and players showing more belief.
From my perspective, we will be playing football again next season in what is arguably the best league in the world.
These are trying times, and if the crowd could have been there today the result could have been different.
The lads have done marvellous this season, I read on here some not enjoying the football, i suspect these fans weren't around as we slumped into division 4.
I am gutted today, but loving the Blades being in the top league.
We will improve next season, we go again!

How about just 'chances created'?

Bash should have scored from that header, Enda with his through ball, the disallowed goals etc.

Norwood's crossing was back to his best today, and I slagged the length of them off again mid week.

Today it was like Berge finally backed himself and his ability. Completely different player.

Fleck and Norwood still a bit crap, mind, but focusing on the positives McBurnie was also a handful.
said same about Berge. He played with confidence and strength - was so good to see. A glimpse into the £22m player. Hopefully a platform for him.

Beat Sideshow Bob with ease, all afternoon. Great performance. Just wouldn't drop for us in the box unfortunately.

If we can take that 2nd half intensity into Thursday, we should be ok.
