Heard news that Billy Clarke was supposed to be signing some sort of deal at United today, but not heard anything as yet, anyone got any information on that?:)

On the OS, DW is quoted as saying he was close to adding someone to the squad, but they've all of a sudden featured in the first team so now he isn't sure. Almost certainly Clarke - made his first start on Saturday since he went back from his loan spell. His only other time on the pitch was from two brief sub appearances.

He got subbed after 62 mins - perhaps adding weight to the view Holloway doesn't rate him

Clarke has been 4th or 5th choice of late and they've just signed Bednar from WBA and a young striker from Wigan on loan for the season so I don't think Saturday's appearance means a thing in terms of his future at Blackpool. Whether other clubs wanted to have a look at him on Satdi is another matter and it wouldn't surprise me if it was just a shop window job as they want to sell him ideally.

Twitter rumours are saying that he failed a medical at ours today. Deal off and possibly going to Crawley as a replacement for tubbs

Where's that Fleety? Can't see it in Crawley or Blackpool news sources. Not that I'm doubting your local knowledge.

If it's the case, we've in all likelihood been out maneuvered by Crawley Town for a player.

Dear Christ.

Dear Christ.

If so, proves we don't have up to £800,000 in the kitty. That's the fee Bournemouth paid them for Matt Tubbs yesterday!

Regardless, of our finances and the reason for them being in their current state, the number of (in my opinion) FAR smaller clubs who could outspend us in the transfer market is depressing to say the least.

Or that having had Billy Clarke on loan, we didn't think he was worth £800,000 assuming that was the asking price; given that I'd suspect that there's careful budgeting going on and it's probably sell before you buy for Danny Wilson.

If someone had wanted to take Richard Cresswell off our hands then maybe we could have afforded Clarke.

Why would Clarke go to Crawley when they have potentially just sold all 3 of their better players? (McFadzean, Barnett and Tubbs)

From what I've been hearing, he wants to come to us.

According to the Crawley website, they're going to refuse all bids for anyone after the Tubbs transfer.

I'm suprised you're suprised. They can only outspend us because our current wagebill will be "3X" theirs - ie we've already vastly outspent them. None of this is big news, surely?

UTB

I'm surprised you think I'm surprised as I don't actually say I'm surprised.

Just depressed.

Blackpool just tweeted hes gone to Crawley for undisclosed fee

I think Hoskins could potentially be a better solution, but still disappointing.

Dear Christ.

Sorry mate, work getting in the way this afternoon ! I think it was just a case of them willing to pay cash, haven't heard anything about the alledged failed medical though which could add fuel to the fire.

It's on Blackpool's O/S now.

Heard about a failed medical, but I understand his decision may have involved family reasons.

Pity really, was hoping to see him back in the red and white again.

Quite a big drop from Championship (Premier League last year) to League 1 with us and now League 2.

Admittedly Crawley are doing alright, sat in the Auto slots, but no guarantee, he could end up playing League 2 next season as well.

But good on him for getting a permanent move, getting guaranteed 1st team football.

Money must've been a big factor as well.

Billy Clarke

Do you think Hoskins joining us, was after Clarke had decided to join Crawley?

Im quite happy with Hoskins, it all depends on his fitness, like all our strikers.
