Along with the Lord, Norwood was the best midfielder at BL in my lifetime. It was no coincidence his arrival led to PL promotions. In his prime, top quality ball player. The ping-king.

It might have occurred to people that Wilder is desperately trying to overhaul the current squad with athletic types that are capable of the hard yards as well as blending as a unit to play a bit as well.

In other words, everything we so desperately lacked last season.

Agree, imagine he’ll go to a league 1 club and if used properly, allowed to pull the strings then he’ll really excel at that level.

Norwood is a great guy, so can only wish him the best.

I really think that quarterback style of midfielder has unfortunately gone out of fashion. Norwood was great when the opposition stood off a gave him time to make his pings. But sadly he was totally steamrollered in Prem last season by quicker, more physical players, and even in the Championship promotion season, I don’t think we’d have made it if he hadn’t been replaced by Tommy Doyle.
Cheers for the memories Olly, but we now need modern midfielders to boss the middle of the park.

A return to Huddersfield might be worth it and it keeps him fairly local. Them or Reading but they are in a similar situation to us regarding a takeover.

He has done well with both clubs before and it would be a decent end to his career.

He was quality last night, controlled the game. Helped them to get 3 points, which is the avg number of points he did per minute. I counted 5 points inside the first 60 seconds . With those teeth and the constant pointing he reminded me of John Travolta on the dance floor.
