Love that, in what possible way could McBurnie be viewed as a successful signing? I was one of the ones clamouring for him to join, and still hold hope he can come good, but there’s absolutely nothing to suggest he’s been a worthwhile addition yet - particularly over the last 40 odd games when he’s been nothing but absolute dogmuck.

Absolutely this. I take on board that goal scoring chances have been few and far between for all the forwards but he's just a poor player, end of. Criminal waste of money.

The main reason we dont score is we play in our own half ,we are so deep that we dont get chance to get numbers together in attack ,all the players have proven ability ,the manager/coach and tactics are the problem. Match the 11 last week against the 11 of luton man for man ,managed well we should piss it.

So why the fuck give him a new contract, probably rewarding the lads for helping himself get an 80k a week contract double shaun dyches by the way!! Oh an he's a shoein for the forest job

why didn’t we replaced the misfiring midfielder(s) and the one who didn’t want to be here instead of spunking 20m on a striker. Wilder squad planning was heinous.

they havent done that for 15 months so no point norwood being as deep as he has been we were basically playing with a back 6 for most of last season

He's deep to receive the ball off the defenders or keeper, and in doing so is facing his own goal while being closed down, so will be forced into passing sideways or back,but gets it back facing the other way and starts us off. He's still making some decent forward passes at times , but the next phase to often breaks down, as we don't hold the ball up, or we take the wrong option, or there's lack of options, or we aren't moving the ball quick enough. he's not at his best, but isn't the main problem for me.. it was the same with Coutts getting pelters,when it was a lack of options further forward, and once that was addressed, we looked a lot better.

Norwood’s legs have gone. His set piece delivery, beating the first man or not, is poor. He has no power in his shot and when he gives the ball away he can’t get back to atone for the error.

I hope I’m wrong but my personal view is he’s done.

He scored when we drew in a game against Man Utd almost two years ago. Been missing since July 2020 apart from the odd corner he heads clear (perhaps he should just become a centre half?).

Throwing himself to the ground instead of getting stuck in

I know I have shown to be not McBurnie's biggest fan in the past but totally agree. I like to do comparisons and the "good solid goalscorer" test for me that player is Jon Stead who scored 143 goals in 626 appearances which is over 2 goals in 10 games over the course of a season you should be in double figures with assists too. If you're strikers can't get into double figures in the Championship you are always going to be struggling unless you have a good defence.

So weird that I’m not bothered Norwood is in the starting 11. I really thought he was done here.

I love Norwood. I could watch him all day when playing well. But, the goal today, came from a Hourihane cross. I wonder even if Norwood gives us more over 90 mins, that quality delivery from Hourihane could be what makes the biggest difference, week in week out.
