No surprise

True and I think he made the wrong choice with some of his subs.

Oddly enough I don't think McEv coming on was the wrong choice but it was his only choice.

I think you've nailed the problem there. Not enough good players.

I think Nigel made the changes he did today based on attitude rather than performances.
Baxter and Che are two of our more promising players but with fans claiming the team doesn't give a shit I can understand why he dropped them both.
Baxter is notoriously lazy and only a few week back Nigel said that Che needed to learn to be more professional.
That said, when your job is on the line I don't care how much they will fight for your cause- you don't bring on Woolford and Mceverley!
Completely disagree - Baxter is one of the only players that's put the effort in this season and shown some fight.

Did he say that about Che? Or was it Diego? I know he dropped Che for discipline, but he said the matter was dealt with.

I saw the team sheet and realised there was no change after Shrewsbury. Collins was back in. Pity, I was hoping Adkins had some bollocks to finally bin the useless twat

Exactly ideally he would want a new centre back to choose from.

That said he could have moved Basham into the back 4 and brought Adams on.

I'm going more off what they could train like and act through the week. I might have got my quotes jumbled up with the diego ones but it stuck in my mind that Che's attitude might not be great.
I'm Baxter's biggest fan and he was probably our most in form player, I just see him as a lazy player and if he's moaned at the extra training that Adkins might have put on after last week then being benched is understandable.
All complete speculation, but the guy is obviously very high on players attitudes hence sticking with Sharp through his tough few weeks.

swapping this player for that player out of any of our current squad is like trying to plug the gash in the side of the Titanic with your finger. Roll on January and new blood (hopefully).

Not sure whether Baxter injured or not, I know it was reported he was but this mike Stephenson guy on twitter indicated there is more too it but not saying what

Some speculation on twitter suggests Baxter isnt really injured, and there are a couple of 'theories' as to what may or may not have gone off.

What is really irritating is that the player who has done the most for us in the last 5-8 matches is not playing, at a time when we need some quality.

I hope he really was injured yesterday and some fallout with whoever is not keeping him out of the team. I thought Adkins interview has some subtle criticisms of players moving into advanced positions when they should be defending (or something along those lines). This felt to me like an obvious dig at the likes of Baxter and Adams.

Time will tell - but right now we need Baxter available for selection.

I'm a big fan of Adkin's but I'm afraid he put his own head on the January chopping block with his decisions today. Only he can take it back off, worryingly for him he is relying on this squad to save him!

Has Basham looked good at CH recently?

Something not right, I think we have all said that in recent weeks.

Matt Done not scoring, Billy Sharp not scoring (always said I am not a fan of old players returning, sorry Billy), Adams not scoring in recent games.

Not enough goals from midfield, terrible defence.

Tough times to be a Blade.

What's not right is playing Done out wide. Ditto J C-R on the wrong wing. Sharp? I'm sorry but we've seen enough in his previous two spells here to know that he's a 'nearly' player. Adams? The kindest thing would be to flog him - and Reed - as they will never develop in this team of lightweights and coasters.

Something needs to change but I don't know what. Adkins has made huge mistakes and his signing have been truly awful but we can't keep sacking managers. The players are dreadful and don't care but we are stuck with them. I really don't see a way out

I am not saying Adkins should be sacked at the moment, but there has to be an improvement. If a manager continually makes decisions that have an adverse impact on our league position, you cannot just blindly stick with him.

Yesterday was not the first time his substitutions have made life difficult for us on the pitch. And that is just one area in which mistakes are being made.

For me, this draw is on Adkins head and we had lost impetus long before McEverley came on. Should have replaced JCR with Reed and moved Coutts wide. Would have brought us some legs in the middle and put Coutts infront of Brayford, where they have history.

Just an awful decision and why the fuck can't Basham move back to CB when Edgar got injured. He just wanted defenders on the pitch, no matter how bad they are.

Spot on. For the equaliser, it was more the defence as a whole backing off, not coming out than JMcs stupid foul.
