I recognise the fine lines in football and that a 1-0 win would have been considered a good response....however they have yet again shown their lack of quality by throwing two points away to relegation candidates in injury time.

Yes we made a series of chances and failed to take them (that will be used as a positive even though it's bad enough in itself). Long also made a couple of very good saves and had to save a penalty. Got out of jail and still managed to throw it away.

The sooner we can get shut of some of these players the better.

fully agree lets start with jay mceverly on for 2 minutes gives another stupid free kick away and bang 1-1 get rid adkins

If someone said we could end the season now in this position I would take it because its horrible watching this season slowly ebb away. Nothing is going to change this season so the fact we are going to have to stomach this every week for the next 6 months makes me feel a bit ill

We were doing well til the injuries kicked in.

The McEv sub seemed enforced due to Edgar going down.

It's the bloody Woolford substitution that puzzled me.
I think Nigel made the changes he did today based on attitude rather than performances.
Baxter and Che are two of our more promising players but with fans claiming the team doesn't give a shit I can understand why he dropped them both.
Baxter is notoriously lazy and only a few week back Nigel said that Che needed to learn to be more professional.
That said, when your job is on the line I don't care how much they will fight for your cause- you don't bring on Woolford and Mceverley!

Dominating the game then changing to a more defensive set up and letting them come at us for the first time in the game for the last 10 minutes for foooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooks sake :mad::mad:

failed to take them more like drew good saves out of the keeper

I would have gambled and put Brayford at centre back when Edgar went down.

Lots of teams get injuries they need to deal with it

True and I think he made the wrong choice with some of his subs.

Oddly enough I don't think McEv coming on was the wrong choice but it was his only choice.

It's the players we brought on that was the issue. We ended up with a midfield of Freeman, Hammond, Coutts, Basham and Woolford. No outlet at all. No attempt to even try to break. It was literally defend, defend, defend. I'm afraid the pressure got to Adkins today.

Id have brought Adams on.

The issue for me was our constantly sitting deep without pushing up, almost inviting a very poor side to attack while waiting to the last minute before we put a challenge in. We only had chances from breakaways and a 5 minute period after the penalty when we had them on the rack yet we eased off once again. Even to aim for the play offs at the moment is a complete joke.

For me, this draw is on Adkins head and we had lost impetus long before McEverley came on. Should have replaced JCR with Reed and moved Coutts wide. Would have brought us some legs in the middle and put Coutts infront of Brayford, where they have history.

Just an awful decision and why the fuck can't Basham move back to CB when Edgar got injured. He just wanted defenders on the pitch, no matter how bad they are.

I agree and would start even earlier. Freeman for Done lost us those two points. We lost any ability to keep it up their end. Sharp will not run them down or keep the ball in the corner like Done might. Even Sammons would have helped.

He indeed got scared and hoped against hope that a weak, non-defending team with no clean sheets would somehow see out 15 minutes of ultra-defensive play...

The problem is that logic suggest that with the run of games we have coming up we won't be picking up a win any time soon. That wasn't just two points dropped, that was a chance to widen the gap to the bottom 4. Make no mistake about it unless something drastically changes then by Christmas we are going to be dragged towards a genuine relegation battle.

Although it was a better performance today, it's also shown just how under pressure Adkins is. With the games coming up his position may be untenable by January and it will all relate back to today. 3 points today would have eased any thoughts of being dragged into a relegation scrap. Now we are likely to see ourselves really in the shit by the end of next month

We didn't convert enough of the chances we created, it happens too often to say it's bad luck, it's just poor finishing. The team can't keep a clean sheet so 1-0 was always risky, Edgar and Collins sounded shaky before goal. NA said we where going for the win and we threw another two points away, that's not down to one individual it's collectively. At the moment I don't see the manager/players turning this around.

Adkins puts too much wishful thinking into his interviews. Too much of what we are going to do, too much talk of the eventual goals and targets, too much about our status. That stops him from taking things at face value, short-termist if you like.

Coventry is not a great chance to make up ground on the leaders which is the way he will probably sell it. It is a match we need to dig in deep to avoid embarrassment. We quickly all need to accept that we are cannon fodder, lower mid-table, not fallen aristocracy that will soon miraculously turn the corner. For now, this is our billing, until we prove by results on the pitch we deserve to be thought of again as more than that... No more whistling in the wind.

If and when we turn the corner, an impending match against top two may get different billing. But as it is, he is sleep-walking a deluded set of players into further delusions...

Something not right, I think we have all said that in recent weeks.

Matt Done not scoring, Billy Sharp not scoring (always said I am not a fan of old players returning, sorry Billy), Adams not scoring in recent games.

Not enough goals from midfield, terrible defence.

Tough times to be a Blade.

Something needs to change but I don't know what. Adkins has made huge mistakes and his signing have been truly awful but we can't keep sacking managers. The players are dreadful and don't care but we are stuck with them. I really don't see a way out

Not sure what the way out is Roy mate. A solid spine to the team would be a start. Players with grit and determination would be another. A whole new midfield built around Baxter would be another.

The one positive is that the clear out that should have happened in the summer will surely happen next summer. I think everyone at the club, manager, coaches, board, know that we need to start afresh

Exactly how I saw the game too.
