But regarding agents, it really is absolutely disgusting. They make sure as much as possible is left to the deadline so they can extort the fuck out of everybody. It's crooked and it fucking stinks.

Exactly. And I don't buy into for one second that the only permanent player we could afford who would've improved us was Martyn Waghorn either.

I accept that there may not have been anyone else with such a good recent record at championship level, but on a whole, I agree - he's not the only player out there, for that money, who would have made a difference.

I agree in a sense that before the season, I would've assumed we'd be fishing in the same waters as QPR, but considering how they've kept hold of Freeman and managed to sign not only Wells, but Hemed too, I can only assume they have more money than I thought.

I’m not sure if he still partly owns them or not. They’re cutting back but they were hugely overspending, so they could cut back a lot and still have a decent budget. They were looking like relegation candidates so they either stick to the cutting back mantra or invest a bit of money in trying to avoid relegation and having to make even more cuts next season.
Basically, when a championship club goes down, the owners are almost guaranteed to lose money. So, if you can afford it, and they clearly can, it makes sense to lose the money now and give yourself a decent chance of staying up.
