Wish I knew he was doing this so I could miss The View From and use the excuse that I was standing in solidarity with Deadbat
It could be said Roy that your half-assed pre-match view from set the tone for the game yesterday.

I believe Hecky has a picture of you up in the dressing room as motivation for Sunderland.

I'm not getting enough support from the board

It's why forums are great as you get different opinions...I thought we wrent outclassed but WERE outfought.

XG makes no difference when the reality is we did not have one decent chance, maybe the Egan one where its smothered close range. Yes they did sod all too but were away and did exactly what they had to in order to win. Scored a goal and saw us out easily.

I thought it was a diabolical performance sadly. Not a sustained period of attacking, barely a forward pass, noone carrying the ball and other than a few weak headers, not one shot put in all game. We lost a lot of battles and generally just looked slow, timid and lacking energy. The urgency to attack and try and score a goal was nowhere to be seen.
Sums up how I saw it. The lack of fight, pedestrian football and clueless hoicks to Mcb made it possibly the worst performance at Home this season imo. It seemed the view from the bench was we've got 3 points at Reading lets sit back and try and nick a goal like we did against Watford. Problem was Luton had the same approach and were much better at it. The XG stats are the guff that will be fed to PH. They don't measure winning second balls desire and energy. I prefer the MOE stats to form an opinion on a game. My own eyes.

Rob Edwards goes into some detail on Luton's tactics for this game. It may have looked like our players weren't bothered, but I think Luton identified our threats and stopped us from playing. Whatever we tried to rectify things, didn't work.

Highlights:

I think we can hope that a few PL teams won't be quite as prepared as Luton were here. Hecky made a few changes after this game, and we improved, winning 8 of the next 9. For next season we need some more additions to give opposition teams even more things to worry about. Edwards didn't seem too worried about our left hand side (Robinson, Fleck and Lowe) for example.
