No farm at Swillsborough !?!

Just seen a map apparently from Weston park museum showing original ordnance survey map from 1855 of where Wendies ground is. Doesn't seem to show any farm or piggery !?!
I know it's been talked about over and over but I'd rather stick to Wendies than pigs if that's the case.

It looks like Hillsborough is a field there and fields are part of farms.

The field in question is almost certainly full of pigs as well

That map does clearly show it is 3 miles to Sheffield from Hillsborough, proving conclusively that they are in fact situated in South Barnsley...

That map shows in close proximity to the ground we have "South Yorkshire Lunatic Asylum" and a couple of sewage works. A number of farms are also clearly marked. One of them was surely a pig farm.

Not sure about the pig farms but older Owls and Blades can verify that the pig nickname started being commonly used from 1974.

Wednesday designed a new modern badge that they were very proud of.
Blades in the mid 70’s ridiculed their new badge and said the Owl looked more like a pig.
And hence the legend was born.

In the late 70’s at school I used to draw their new badge and show it to my class mates, then as if by magic in seconds i’d change it to a pig. Also in the 70’s and 80’s, you’d see the Wednesday badge graffitied on walls in Sheffield
Then some Blade would come along and add the pigs snout, pigs trotters and curly tail to their badge
Same as you’d see “Owl”s grafitti and then a Blade would add a F, to make it “Fowls”.
From memory the first time I ever heard a Wednesday fan call it us pigs was in the early to mid 80’s.
