It's rather unfair of the SYP to allow the greater numbered home contingent 'beer armour' and not the away. How can the porky chaps defend themselves from kidney punches now?

I'm no fan of the team the Blades play ON Friday, nor of their truffle bothering followers.. But...

What difference (apart from lessening their enjoyment of the spectacle) does the decision to stop them drinking, but not the rest of us, have? It's ridiculous and further demonstrates how the authorities, and SYPlod in particular treat football fans on a much less equal measure than many other groups in society.

I don't see the problem, they can all come in the Hermitage before the game and bring some half and half scarves along as a peace offering....

Just been told the real reason is they don't want the Pigs kicking off because we don't sell White Lightning in litre bottles.

So basically the SYP don't want to be blamed for any problems with fans getting to the ground late

They've caused havoc for the pubs, banned booze on the away end (surely thats discrimination?) and no doubt will restrict booze in the home ends, so if anyone is pissed, the police have done everything they can and can't be blamed.

The media are missreporting whats been said, leading to confusion

It costs sky too much to have any flexibility in the kick off time, so the police are under pressure not to delay kick offs

How about if they just policed things properly and treated fans like normal people instead of assuming that they will create trouble

If it's only applicable to one set of fans but they don't specify anything you'd assume it's the home fans it applies to wouldn't you?

But no. They're referring to the away fans - 2,500 out of 30,000. Intelligent.

Surley discrimination against Wednesayites, hope they get on the case and put SYP in their place.

Song and dance about nowt Chief Plod, there were 28k the last home game and there was 31k the previous home game to that, anyone would think we had attendances of 5k and this Derby and its 31k was something to get all exited about in a Plod way of thinking.

Ah yes the terrorism twist should justify it. Just looking at that smug cunt Morley in the picture makes my blood boil.

Even that doesn't make any sense.
Anybody could have bought a ticket on the day for literally any United game this season. This is the only one where you have to have either a season ticket, or the required amount of points.
Are they just worried that some lifelong fan will suddenly decide he's not that into football anymore & would rather blow himself up?

A few of us came close during the Adkins era.

Have The Keystone Cops taken over the local franchise?

Doubling the number of pies to 20 so everyone gets one

So if I’ve read this correctly, no boozing during the match but by all means pre load beforehand.
How can banning drinks during the match result in a more sober crowd, if that’s the intention?
Thank God I’ve never had the mispleasure of living under the SYP.
I’m ex Old Bill and even in police circles SYP has a poor reputation stretching back to Hillsborough, the miners strike and no doubt farther into history.
The Rotherham abuse cover up is right up there too. Tragic.

Latest from SYP

CONSUMING ALCOHOL WITHIN THE GROUND IS NOW COMPULSORY.

NOBODY WHO CAN STAND UNASSISTED WILL BE PERMITTED TO LEAVE.

THE LATEST RESEARCH SHOWS THAT PEOPLE WHO ARE UNCONSCIOUS HAVE NEVER INITIATED ANY ACTS OF VIOLENCE.

Not a fan are you Sean?

No problem with the officers on the beat generally save for the odd Robocop but these senior guys at SYP don't appear to have a clue. The lying by Morley really peed me of though.
The Durham officers on the tram however were very professional. And critical of SYP's handling, once they realised they weren't dealing with trams full of hardcore thugs, as they'd been informed.
