I'd be very surprised if he's upper championship quality, personally. He can't get into his domestic team, even though they often play 3 CBs (and their best defender is a 34 year old Pontus Jansson).
He's played quite a bit of football for a young CB tbf. But yes he's obviously inexperienced and not the next Maldini.

Zouma would be a ridiculous signing at this level if he's anywhere near he was: big statement
I watched him play in Saudi against Al Riyadh last season and on that day he would have given Jay McEverley a run for his money.

He may well be a good addition to the squad and prove to be an excellent investment. However, given that Binden is already at the club, I really don't think pairing him with another young and relatively inexperienced CB is wise. Surely and especially if JLT departs, an older, more experienced 'dog of war' is required at he back, especially if Saturday is a glimpse into how Selles will play this season.
If not Utd will be very soft and most likely get bullied - can you imagine them against Wrexham?

Exactly my worry. I'm all for signings like this - but the chance of kids at CB being capable of dragging us through a championship season are slim especially when the fullbacks don't appear to be leaders/talkers.

Yep, spot on JC. The issue is further exagerated by the only natural defensive midfielder at the club being another inexperienced youngster. Unfortunately, Utd don't currently have a spine - always a critical factor in successful sides.

Aren't they only a year younger than Egan-Riley and Esteve would have been?

I guess Burnley were a lot less kamikaze than we were against BC but I don't think age should be a disqualifier if we can get the midfield and fullbacks supporting correctly?
Yes you have a point and I agree age shouldn't be a disqualifier. Its just as it stands our midfield offers zero protection and the fullbacks are more like wingers so it feels an older "safer" player at CB would be welcome. Hopefully we cover the positions with sufficient quality

He needs to get out of Malmo before Robin Olsen screws up his stats and he ends up in the AI "no pile".
