Totally agree mate. I don't want to single out any posters in particular, but I can't get my head around how much football supporters have changed since the dawn of the internet / social media. Maybe I'm just an old git, but when did we all become sooooooooo opinionated, speaking (well typing actually behind the anonymity of a VPN and keyboard) about things we haven't got a scooby about. Everybody these days seems to be an expert in all aspects of football management and administration.

Oh how I long for a return to the days of 11am meetup in the Blue Bell (virtually every weekend game back then was 3pm Saturday ko), have a few around town, then mouch up to the ground via the Hoffenbrau - a couple more pints watching the strippers. Get into ground about 5 past 3 after a piss and a pie. The chat (generally speaking of course) was about anything other than football! All we wanted was 3 points and a good laugh. We left the football matters to the people who knew far better than we did - ie the professionals employed to do that job.

No we still use up one of our slots.

Under 21’s have slightly different GBE criteria to over 21’s. It’s referenced (fairly poorly) in the FA document. It takes into account youth team appearances, youth competitions, and has a much shorter qualifying windows (12 months over 24 months for a senior)

I think if he gets over 10 points we’d have a decent shout with the exceptions panel and him being called up as a senior international. However the exceptions panel has been scaled back and in essence replaced by the ESC pathway, so I’m not sure it would be a quick decision (Saturday)

So there’s a chance Caceres falls into the over 21 category? Or is it 4 in total across the two groups?

I get what Nixon is saying to be fair. He's not nailed a place down in the Allsvenskan - the league that Benie Traore scored 12 goals in 14 games - the Championship is a huge step up.

I know it's where Anel came from, but he also had two seasons as a regular starter and a year in Ligue 1.

I’d be shocked if Godfrey was our number one only based on reports of how bad he is and lack of game time in past 2 years. Sounds more of a punt or Wilderesk project type.

We'd have a quick fix and a long term prospect. We'd have a loan and a purchase.
Experience and potential.
A player at his peak and a player with a high ceiling.
The new owners are obviously going heavy on loans AND foreign prospects that we can add value to. These two couldn't tick both boxes any better. I'm not saying either are perfect for us (I've hardy seen one and Nils just clips) but with them both being heavily linked and both being in such different places in their careers, I think we'll want the pair.
