If he was not an ex blade we would not be interested. He is not good enough for us, his we stole £1 million off Blackburn is beyond belief

Of all the players we could bring back, he should be filed somewhere just ahead of Jordan Slew, Jon Forte and Marcus Bent.

When people say we need a replacement for Done, a striker who doesn't score and is hopeless out wide isn't literally what they mean.

Valdes, Bruce, Kightly....and now Blackman.

Either too old, expensive, shit, or multiples of the three in the case of Bruce at least.

Will someone please suggest a player that is both good, and possibly of interest to our manager. As none of those four will be.
Thanks.....Jesus we have another 3months of this.

Think you may be getting mixed up with Slew. We sold Blackman to Reading for about £1.1million. I don't think we stole it though as they more than doubled their money selling him on to Derby.

Tom Elliott is out of contract. From Leeds. CW tried for him before.

Younger than Hanson and Clarke but no better is he? In fact I fancy Clarke to have a decent impact next season.

I don't understand why people have a go at players for 'only' scoring penalties. They aren't easy and in many cases are harder to score than other chances that strikers get.

As for Blackman, a loan would be ideal to see how he gets on, but don't think he's worth a relatively large transfer see as quite a gamble

Whether you're for or against the move, at least we have a manager who will rectify any poor signings sharpish.

We can't really lose with Wilder signings. If they work then happy days, if they don't they are out and new one in.

I don't have great memories of Blackman. To me he looked like an average option with an average scoring record in a poor Blades side. He is an example of the modern football world where he has commanded decent fees on the basis of very little. I would be very underwhelmed if we signed him.

Harry's Redknapp when he was at Derby recently claimed Blackman was the most technically gifted footballer at the club. So he'll probably end up there.

Plus he's on 28k a week at CandyCrash Derby

Amazing isn't it? How we all see the same games differently? When he played for us, and received the ball with his back to the defender, he was the best we've had since Agana, for spinning, motoring away and getting a shot or cross off, and winning penalties because of his speed. If I remember correctly, he was our leading goal scorer and we were top of the league? Then McCabe had yet another brain freeze and thought £1m was a fair price to sabotage our season? Well that season ended well, didn't it? Never forget how he tore the Bournemouth defence a new one that season. 3 of that defence is still playing in the premier league as well, isn't it? Cook, Francis and Daniels.

How's that work? What if they're all crap?

He was our only threat going forward that season. I know he still got stick at the time and when he was sold there wasn't really much of an uproar as we thought we could replace him relatively easily with the fee we got.

It was Jonathan Forte we brought in (on a loan too I think).

Selling him when we did was a fucking horrendous move.

Nah. Was a very good player for us and pretty much our only outlet going forward at times when he was here and we definitely shouldn't have sold him, but times have moved on and we can do better. He was useless up front. Good on the wing

Out of curiousity, who do you think would be a better option?

Booker I agree re Clarke injury permitting of course. Given the time he was out he had a remarkable end to the season. He strong a natural finisher, fairly quickly and good in the air. Out of all our strikers he's the one I expect to make the step up most effectively.
