That's the team Nigel, trust me.

He isn't and won't fit into 4-4-2 as for Cuvelier he isn't a winger someone else needs to be out there. White further forward Hill LB

Oh I beg to differ. I've seen him play in wide positions and tear full backs to pieces. He's quick and has good delivery.

Having the worst captain we have ever had is one of the big reasons why we are in this division for the last 3 seasons. Seeing his name on the teamsheet depresses me

We don't have anyone else who could do a better job. That statement may depress you even more but it doesn't mean it's untrue.

I also included him because he will always play until we move him on. He's club captain, they won't drop him. Also because of what I said above.

Not hard to see where our problems are then is it?

Baxter is a striker, ok more a number 10 than 9 but it's insane we wouldn't play him in the top 2

More of a deep lying forward I think. Bit of a specialist style, not a typical no.10 for me but perhaps he could do it....

I would play White on the left wing and Murphy on the right,Miller and Taylor up front

He scored 20 goals from that position. I am pretty sure he didn't play behind 2 players at Oldham. I think everyone wants to put him in this position inbetween midfield and attack but he scores more goals than that

McMahon Collins Maguire Lappin

Cuvelier Coady McGinn White

Taylor Baxter
Edit: I honestly think in terms of talent, that team is up there with the best in the division. I realise this may result in people calling me an idiot. I'd also say that leaves us a couple of game changers from the bench too.

I would put White to LB and put Murphy in, Miller for Taylor, however either team is a fucking good team at this level

That looks a half decent side, but would like Murphy on the left as he has pace and I'm still hopeful he'll come good if he avoids injury and gets a run in the side.

But would Clough bin Doyle? We can only hope.

Taylor isn't good enough. No point in having him on the pitch.

He's been proven to be completely ineffective at this level.

One or two people seem to be calling for Murphy to go back into the side. I really don't get why, he does absolutely nothing. I can only assume his absence from the side has helped some supporters to forget that he's offered nothing since we signed him.

we really have signed a load of wank theres past few seasons havent we. im sure its no coincidence we have moved for cheap yet supposedly promising young scots - is this the scouting system out to procure potentially deveoping talent for in the hope of a quick return, regardless of who the actual manager is?

I have to ask if the standard of play in the Scottish leagues is a lot lower than at our level.
I did watch numerous videos of Murphy when he was signed and he looked a fast and positive player with an eye for goal.
Certainly has not continued that here,or is it that we just turn average players into even poorer ones.
Something very much adrift at the Lane, lets hope Clough can sort it but a major clear out of players is required or a major improvement overnight which I cannot see happening.
When a forward runs towards a goal keeper with him only to beat and then cannot even get his shot on target really sums up how bad we really are.

Doesn't matter how often the captain shuffled the deckchairs the Titanic still went down !

The present shower of sh!te would struggle to make an impression on this division if we played the entire squad of thirty players!

Yet we keep on signing them - there is a reason Lappin can't get a game with Cardiff - he's rubbish!

He only can't get a game with Cardiff because they haven't seen the light, he's not a fucking shite left back he's actually a cracking centre midfielder!! Much better than that McGinn bag of shite that's not contributed at all to us getting 7 from 9 points in the last 3 games. o_O

I get what you are saying, but he has shown glimpses of the form that led to our signing him from Motherwell when he was player of the month in the SPL. I think he's been unlucky with injuries which has meant that he's not had a run in the side, and if he were to stay injury free we'd see a lot better from him.

Agree with that team in the OP 99%.

Only problem I can forsee is a serious lack of height and it's something we'd need to look at for defending set plays etc. I'd be tempted to stick Coady in for Doyle but doubt we'll ever see that happening.

Cuvelier played quite a bit of football for Walsall out wide by the way. He'd be my choice there too. Even better I'd maybe stick him on the right and bring Lappin into LM/LB, addresses part of the height problem that way too, though not massively!
