By the time we play boro in 6 games time how many points above injury ravaged no hopers sheff utd will they be ?

Interested to know who's said we're no hopers

The next 4 with 3 at home and now without Reading away are 4 we should take maximum points from. Do that and no one will be catching us. Its a massive period

I can also see us beating Boro at home to crush any hopes they have of catching us

IMO, Boro have the toughest run there. Depending on how both of us do, will determine whether they have a hope of catching us. I still believe that they have too much ground to make up but we'll see. Watford's is a bit easier, but their recent form has been less impressive so it's a good chance for them to get a run of points together.

Really we just need to be consistent and do what we have been doing.

We are the team to fear in the league, keep doing what we've been doing all season and it'll be fine

I was spot on with my prediction for the Christmas games although the results were slightly different. I'll go with 11 or 12 points from the next 5. Not included Reading. We shouldn't lose any but maybe draw 1 or 2. It's really down to who is fit.

We‘ll drop points where most expect we shouldn’t. And meltdown will ensue.
As we did in October, if we return that run of form we’ll be under real pressure. I’m just hoping the QPR performance was a little complacency, and wake up the team needed.

Gotta love the optimism ............;)

In all seriousness, we may well have a dip, but if we back that up with a run similar to the one we have just had, then it won't make a blind bit of difference. I expect our form will probably be somewhere in between, which should be fine.

He could be referring to me (amongst others) given our recent exchanges on various threads.
If you are Frank the tank , I've never said we're "no hopers"
In the threads which you've taken umbrage with my posts, I've just identified and spoken about where the threats to our chances might emerge from.

The main two are: (1) our mounting injuries, (2) the resurgent form of rivals with new managers and resources to strengthen in January.
If we can avoid point (1), I don't even think point (2) will matter - such is our strength.

There's a thread knocking around somewhere which presents data that projecting our automatic promotion chances at circa 80% likelihood.
I personally would go for around 70%, based on the volume of games left to play and our injury issues.
So certainly not "no hope."

Im not referring to anyone Captain Morgan i think you are a great poster even if positivity is like another dimension of existence to you
It was more a general tone after coming out of the xmas period in such a good position its as if some felt it was wrong to enjoy that or in fact be happy about it because it was just an even greater height to fall on our arses from
Personally if supporting my football team had damaged me to that extent i would find something else to do like flying kites or collecting fizzy pop cans

4 out of next 5 at home ! Reading postponed due to the cup so unless we rearrange during that period it a lot of home games. Those could define our season I would say !

It’s not optimism/pessimism. It’s the realistic nature of football - particularly the league we’re in. And it’s all the more enjoyable for it. It’d be pretty boring if it was always the case that the next 5 looked winnable and that’s just how it went.

Yes is was a huge goal at QPR. Just to avoid defeat. And nicely followed by a victory in London a few days later.

Fulham h....have a chance if if we turn up from the start and press well.

Liverpool a..loss, 100%

Chelsea..h.. the way Chelsea have played recently, we might get something from this one.

Brentford a..lose, they are finding a bit of form and will want revenge for losing at The Lane

Burnley h..might be a game of pride as both may be relegated by then. Either way, I think we'll stuff em for our biggest win of the season. 3-0

Newcastle a...depends if Newcastle are healthy by then. Don't fancy our chances but one like Bournemouth where we surprised a few pundits, until the end.

Prediction....5 points from 6

Fulham - lose 2-1
Liverpool - lose 4-0
Chelsea - lose 3-0
Brentford - lose 3-1
Burnley - win 3-0
Newcastle - lose 3-0

3 points, 4 goals scored, 15 conceded, Derby's goals against record equalled, relegated, queue mass exodus. Im posting this to jonah the situation.
