Seeing as you take more interest in the woman’s game than me, I’ll ask you a question if that’s ok with you..

How long do you think it will be before a promising young male footballer who has been passed up and going out of the game decides to gender re assign in order to have a playing career as a woman..

I’m taking into account that there must be already a few young male footballers who may consider they’d be happier as a woman, and suggesting they get the best of both worlds for themselves.

Would this be allowed?

maybe there are successful male footballers living in the wrong body and suffering due to their career path?

It’s a cliche I know but I really do have transgender friends (plural) so it’s not a question I ask with strings attached if you like.. I’m just curious about the future of football.

I would have preferred another Madine thread than this!

Now THAT is a really interesting question.

Fallon Fox is a transgender (male to female) MMA fighter. As you can probably imagine there was a lot of controversy around it but was still licensed to fight in the women’s division.

If this can be approved in MMA when they are bouncing elbows off of people heads, it’s only a matter of time (may already be happening) before a transgender woman is playing women’s football.

As someone who doesn't really take any interest in the women's game I can't answer your question. I just thought fellow Blades would be heartened by the news that one of the Blades footballing entities is actually making signings. Makes me sleep easier.

Is that why forest fairy ain't been int men's team?

No it’s click bait. Well done.

I've had a conversation with someone along these lines and he suggested one day we could have one side of football that's open to everyone so long as you're good enough, and then the other is just open to cis women, ie women who aren't trans. Doesn't seem like a terrible idea to me, and possibly the closest thing to a solution I've heard.

Can we keep womens football off of this forum .
A minute of my life wasted looking at this thread

JohnDenver good article, something I am really interested in from the viewpoint that women are under enough of a handicap (for want of a better word) already without a bunch of chancers taking their sport(s) away from them.

Dean Hammond did it successfully.
Well the gender reassignment part of it.
Although he kept one vital part of his anatomy.
Answers on a postcard.

Yes. There's still a chance to play footie for united...

How do I explain this to my wife and kid haha

It seems fanciful that someone would undertake something so profound as a sex change simply because they wanted to be seen as being better at football.

But the debate about the role of trans people in women’s sport is well underway.

Nope, I did say that possibly someone was feeling like they’re in the wrong body in the first place, I wouldn’t suggest something so drastic as a change for a sporting career... more of a case that somebody wants to change and was a half decent player.. then could play the woman’s game..
