Tbf its growing on meIf Adidas were insistent on a plain back then why not just make it red ffs? Bizarre.
That being said, I don't think they actually look that bad.
View attachment 42034 same as this, but navy blue instead of black.
This is all good news for ShorehamStMagnifique and the likes. I will be attending my first match this season in either the 86-88 away shirt or the 77-78 home shirt.
I wore the 86-88 away last night.
Looked a lot better than all those Leeds lot in front of me!

Looking forward to the Swansea game:
"Please welcome your white wizards, Sheffield United!"
Looking at the teams in the division, we will have to use our away shirt at the following clubs (AT LEAST)
And potentially here:
- Blackburn
- Bolton
- Brentford
- Bristol City
- Derby
- Leeds
- Middlesbrough
- Nottingham Forest
- Preston
- Rotherham
- Stoke
- Swansea
* Lots of white, referee's discretion:
- QPR *
- Reading **
- West Brom ***
- Wigan ****

** As above, kit not released yet

**** As above. Depends if the back is plain white. Both have plain white sleeves:

That is at least 12 outings and potentially 16.
They'll break out the black socks for QPR and WBA and we might get away with it. Saying that though, the referees were ridiculous last year. It felt like we wore our away kit between 12-16 times last season too because of the officials.
Or a new pair of specksThey may have taken a lot of flack - but for the first time in many years at the Lane I could read the numbers all over the pitch!
A plain panel would have worked just as well though!
We might get a curve ball. Does our kit clash with Forest, and Boro? I bet we've never played in our home kit there before.

Not sure it seems to matter these days. We (and others) wear the away kit whether there’s a clash or not. It used to be a second kit to avoid clashes but I think those days are long gone.Looking at the teams in the division, we will have to use our away shirt at the following clubs (AT LEAST)

Was the original Deane and Agana version a British first? The away one annoys me equally. Day-glo shite has almost become a United trademark. We never go more than a couple of seasons without that garish crap. It's lazy and unimaginative and naturally our fans lap it up every time.
