Car stickers

Practical advice please. I bought my car 3 years ago, the first job was to apply the standard SUFC tax disc size stickers back and front screens. Over the years the stickers have faded and are now a bit dull (as am I), I bought some new stickers, the old ones appear to have welded themselves to the car glass. I’ve tried a wood chisel to use as a scraper, not very successful. Anyone, please, how do I remove these old stickers? Thanks.

1) heat them up with a hairdryer (although with the temperature outside at the moment, probably not needed)
2) use a glue remover liquid and let sit for a minute or 2 (WD40 will work, Lidl has some glue and tar remover a week or so back and will be a bit better) Just try not to let it drip everywhere.
3) stanley blade or similar to gently scrape starting at the edges, just obviously be careful not to scratch the glass or cut yourself

Can be better to repeat step 2 and 3 a couple of times and take it slowly than try and scrape away at it in one hit.

Autoglym tar and glue remover, and a small amount of heat (hairdryer will be fine)

If you’re not comfortable using a Stanley blade (or its in a fiddly position) you can use an ice scraper.

This reminds me that I overtook a car that was hogging middle lane of the motorway, yesterday. Had a Wednesday sticker in the back window.

I gave them a very helpful overtake and then indicate and move all the way back across the motorway.
