This is all good news for ShorehamStMagnifique and the likes. I will be attending my first match this season in either the 86-88 away shirt or the 77-78 home shirt.

I wore the 86-88 away last night.

Looked a lot better than all those Leeds lot in front of me! Oh - was it the back of our new shirt?!

And then.........
It's like a one night stand, the bird that you go back with who is absolutely stunning....and then you wake up with IT!, and contemplate chewing through your own arm, as not to disturb the sleeping beast, thus allowing you to escape it's lair quietly and swiftly.

Looking forward to the Swansea game:

"Please welcome your white wizards, Sheffield United!"

Saw a few in the away shirt, thought I could tolerate it for a minute then saw that giant fucking door deals logo on the back.

Looking at the teams in the division, we will have to use our away shirt at the following clubs (AT LEAST)

  1. Blackburn
  2. Bolton
  3. Brentford
  4. Bristol City
  5. Derby
  6. Leeds
  7. Middlesbrough
  8. Nottingham Forest
  9. Preston
  10. Rotherham
  11. Stoke
  12. Swansea
And potentially here:
  1. QPR *
  2. Reading **
  3. West Brom ***
  4. Wigan ****
* Lots of white, referee's discretion:

** As above, kit not released yet

*** As above:

**** As above. Depends if the back is plain white. Both have plain white sleeves:

That is at least 12 outings and potentially 16.

They'll break out the black socks for QPR and WBA and we might get away with it. Saying that though, the referees were ridiculous last year. It felt like we wore our away kit between 12-16 times last season too because of the officials.

We might get a curve ball. Does our kit clash with Forest, and Boro? I bet we've never played in our home kit there before.

They may have taken a lot of flack - but for the first time in many years at the Lane I could read the numbers all over the pitch!

A plain panel would have worked just as well though!
Or a new pair of specks

I'd say not but last season, I've just had a look we wore our away kit, I think most would agree, unnecessarily against Hull, Wolves, Millwall, Burton and Villa and had to wear change shorts at Norwich.

If referees think that black clashes with Norwich green or that having black shorts means Burton and our home kits are too close, we've no chance.

Not sure it seems to matter these days. We (and others) wear the away kit whether there’s a clash or not. It used to be a second kit to avoid clashes but I think those days are long gone.

So they can sell more shirts

The away one annoys me equally. Day-glo shite has almost become a United trademark. We never go more than a couple of seasons without that garish crap. It's lazy and unimaginative and naturally our fans lap it up every time.
Was the original Deane and Agana version a British first?

Took my 3 year old down today and got him the 7-8 kit which isn’t too big. He wasn’t a fan of the ‘green’ shirt but loves the new. Ran out of the number 1 for his number 10 in the small kit so this year he is Fleck

I little reminder that if, like most, you aren’t keen on the new home shirt then there’s always the Retro 1981 - http://www.shorehamst.com/product/1981-retro-home. Pre-order ends in 10 days; after which it will no longer be available to order.

As a bonus, it has a striped back which, coincidentally, matches the front..!
