If we're losing lower-income fans that's a loss to our club and our ethos. Some will say 'that's tough' and 'so be it' but for me that's a shame, I wouldn't want us to become like Manchester United in that regard (taking it to the extreme but you will see my point).
The lower income fans got priced out years ago. My family couldn't afford it in the 90s, it was always a treat.
Unless you can scrape the money for a season ticket together, or have a credit rating decent enough to get it on finance, as a low income person you know you're not going to get to many.
They'd need to be about £15 if seeing United was going to be a comfortable spend for a lot of families and that ship has sailed.
Whatever they do to the ticket prices now, within reason, doesn't really matter because it's already a situation where people who earn very little are picking the games they're prepared to throw £35 at, so a pound or so more won't affect things too greatly.
They already struggle to get to more than a handful of games, it's not like they've been stopped from getting to all of them because of this rise, it was never an option.
