New prices at the lane

If we're losing lower-income fans that's a loss to our club and our ethos. Some will say 'that's tough' and 'so be it' but for me that's a shame, I wouldn't want us to become like Manchester United in that regard (taking it to the extreme but you will see my point).

The lower income fans got priced out years ago. My family couldn't afford it in the 90s, it was always a treat.

Unless you can scrape the money for a season ticket together, or have a credit rating decent enough to get it on finance, as a low income person you know you're not going to get to many.

They'd need to be about £15 if seeing United was going to be a comfortable spend for a lot of families and that ship has sailed.

Whatever they do to the ticket prices now, within reason, doesn't really matter because it's already a situation where people who earn very little are picking the games they're prepared to throw £35 at, so a pound or so more won't affect things too greatly.

They already struggle to get to more than a handful of games, it's not like they've been stopped from getting to all of them because of this rise, it was never an option.

Don't get me wrong. I also love Sheffield. I left in 1969 to go to College in Leeds. Sheffield was a lively thriving city with plenty of cash sloshing about. Leeds was a proper dump. On the way in to the bus station I saw a shack selling horse meat - that's how bad Leeds was in 1969. It was grimy city whereas Sheffield was just the opposite. How things have changed. 😥
I can see why Leeds has overtaken, but saying that they've only just got their Arena and still no tram system...not to mention back to back houses with washing strung across the street and preferring egg shaped balls.

He's got loads of potential, just can't seeing fitting into a Wilder team unless he can play the Duffy role

15 pages, and it was £4 a pint, not £5. Fuck.
Who can be hunted down and burnt instead??

I'll be fair and state that I thought the program was outstanding, a real engaging read and worth the extra costs for me. I just hope that everyone else was able to enjoy it and afford the increases.

Did those on a budget manage to control themselves over that 15 minute period?

I'd agree, but...

Food: depends. I do like pies. And it just goes well with half time. (far too long indoctrinated into me now)

Drink: well it's a toss up, I prefer pub first, get in on time +30 mins, and have 1 beer in the ground. In the years with no beer available, I've missed quite a few starts when either stupidly left pub too late, or unexpected big queues. At ground prices, I'd never go for a full session in there. I don't know many who would. That partly explains the high price - they don't sell many.
With u on that one mate, we've even missed a full 90 mins, stopping off at the Cricketers on the way, and Malcolm Sissons hospitality, going beyond the call of duty, ensuring we enjoy his selection of well priced beers.
