First game Liverpool at home 1-1 Currie 25 yard screamer. First away game with me dad at Hillsbrough County Cup game 0-0 can remember being gutted cos we rested Currie. First away game with the lads 1977 the infamous Bristol Rovers Car Park pitch battle what an eye opener that was. What a great day yesterday was already booked our digs Luton Premier Inn train to West Hampstead Jubilee Line to Wembley Park £35 per room. After 43 season love it now more than ever great times and memories.

This is my first post too. Long time lurker, first time poster.

My first Blades game was the home match against the Pigs in the 3-2 win in 70-71 promotion season. My mate and I stood on the Kop. It was awesome. A magnificent occasion for a couple of young lads from Donny. I fell in love with the Blades that day.

Yesterday reminded me why. So proud to be a Blade today.

Welcome Barry and Monkey.

Newish myself, you will find a friendly bunch on here. Good banter and factual debate. Nice to join at a time when there is so much sucess and good vibes around the club.

Thanks lads the pig game was the season before I went to my first game, the Liverpool game was Season 71/72 although I can't remember the date!

1-1 draw against Liverpool was 30th October 1971. TC's goal was deffo from more than 25 yards!

I'd won a football competition and the first prize was a couple of tickets in the old John Street stand for this Liverpool match. Bill Shankly was sitting to our right. I was sat right behind TC as he hit that ball. I could almost see Shanks purr with respect and admiration. Think Keegan got an equaliser early doors of the second half.

Not sure if it was the same game but I remember Emlyn Hughes commenting that TC could be one of the best players in the world if he stopped spending his time taking the 'mickey' out of opponents.

Truth be known we loved TC for taking the piss out of our opponents. Happy days. Let's hope we are about to see it all over again.

Good to have more blades joining the force, also good to see you haven't a freaky looking clown as your picture :D:p

I can remember he scored at the Bramall lane End and I was stood front of the Kop and is still one of the best goals I've ever seen Ray Clements got nowhere near it, don't think Keegan played but I could be wrong!

Can anyone remember the Forest game 76/77 when we beat them 2-0 was it Varadi who scored twice for us? The year forest won the Old league 2?

I was there - stood on the BLLT with my dad and Uncle Fred stood some way back.

What a goal, only matched by Mike Lake's thunderbolt against Southampton at the Dell in 1992.

It was Edwards who scored both goals and Forest actually finished 3rd that season.

For me, Bill Shankly is the greatest ever manager. Kevin Keegan's goal was good too, a diving header it was too. Tommy Smith got booked in the 1st half for a deliberate handball and then in the 2nd half the ref seemed to book him again for a bad foul on Hockey but wasnt sent off. Fans near me were saying "That is the second time he got booked so he should have been off!". No Yellow cards or 4th officials in these days!

Varadi's league debut for us was against Crystal Palace in Sept 1978. The only time he scored twice in a game for us was in the 3-3 draw at home to Cambridge (snow on the pitch) on Dec 30th 1978

If any of you have a copy of the Lane Line Up programme against Coventry 13/11/71 the centre pages has a great picture of TC's 'wonder goal'. The same pages show photos of us beating Arsenal in the League Cup.

Liverpool, Arsenal watch out we're on our way back!!
