Koppo would be welcome at my house any time.
Indeed, I take great delight and pleasure in reading his unashamed left-field views on the Blades, and his pasta and pizza inspired soliloquies are a joy to behold but, if he came round 'ere, to my house, and sat in my place on the settee and started slouching, with his feet up on the coffee table, and then started flicking round the TV channels whilst the missus was trying to watch Homes Under The Hammer, I'd say "Oi! KOPPO! NO-OOOOO!!! I admire your sanguine and optimistic exculpations on the Blades chances of going up through the play-offs and your scuttlebutt persiflages in Rumour Mill are worthy of the great Alan Bennett BUT this is my house and I will not have you treating it like some spotty faced, pubescent adolescent who's just walked in from school! Now get in that kitchen and wash those dishes!" And I'd give him a slaaaaaap.

we were all I favour of Slav being appointed and look how that turned out
Not a defence of Slav but………

If reports are true he was promised funds to build his team. PA did a Chancer and didn’t provide promised funds. Slav had to try and build the team he wanted out of players bought by Wilder, didn’t work.

Season wasted.

That’s what will happen if we keep Wilder, let him buy his team then come Xmas sack him.
Who wants to come in and be told there’s a pile of bricks that are wrong size and wrong colour but build this nice big house for us.

Another wasted season

Whatever your view of CW, the way this has played out in the local and national press is an embarrassment to the club.

It’s not a good look.
Neither was the stuff your data
Sausage roll song
Criticising home fans
Dancing on the table
Arguing with Plymouth fans
£400,000+ fines
Mates publicly criticising owners in media
Etc

I wouldn't be against Frank. He's a better manager than people give him credit for and does it quietly without attracting attention on himself. It's not his fault that the media relabel his teams. He's better than Rooney and Gerrard. My only concern is that fans of teams he's managed often complain of a lack of plan B when things go awry in matches. We've had enough of that with Hecky and Wilder.
Good call. The AI recruitment model will have no doubt identified him as a candidste. Young and dynamic, never the centre of attention. And wears fashionable clothes.

We can surely overlook the minor facts that he's never got a team promoted and finished 21 points below us last season.

In my opinion this squad is absolutely begging for a modern coach with modern ideas to come in and take it to the next level.

Love wilder and his passion for this club but the squad is mentally weak and trying to win games that way is not going to work let's try winning games by out footballing teams and building to a crescendo throughout the season
Improving players confidence through coaching and fitness and not looking on enviously at the likes of Leeds, Burnley, Sunderland Bristol City, Millwall, Plymouth and Portsmouth playing us off the park on our own patch

The Americans may not have leaked it to the press directly, but it has reached the press nonetheless. So perhaps they haven't been sensitive enough with their discussion... either way, it is a mess and they haven't been decisive enough, or got ahead of the narrative.

It sounds like Wilder is still in the dark on his future, whilst the media knows there is a split decision at Board level.

I referenced last week that I had a growing scepticism around the new owners due to their silence and lack of progress on off-field infrastructure.
Since then, we've signed another unknown kid from the Bulgarian league and we've had this managerial fiasco.

One of my biggest concerns is thay they've still not surrounded themselves with football people.
Who is advising / approving these football decisions?

Agree about slav. Bonkers move.

Not sure how you can be sure that if we keep wilder they'd sack him at Christmas. That's an opinion. If you are 100% sure on that can I have your euro millions picks for tonight please?

Great post, especially on football knowledge and advisors.

In terms of the infrastructure side there is improvements going on at the ground, not major but stuffs going on. I don't think k we'll see anything massive like a kop rebuild unless we get promoted and established ourselves there.

They did initially come out and say they'd be more details on their plans for the club but that's not come yet. I think they feel the statement on recruitment is there plan etc but we've not got much to go on yet. The proof will be in the pudding over the next few years I guess.

That's just a biased guess full of flaws.
Wilders mate could well have leaked it from evidence we've actually seen.
You say they haven't been decisive. Aka they should make a knee jerk reaction??
Just maybe they are speaking , as you'd hope, to Wilder and giving him chance to get on board with what they want to do, or part ways.

The reality is that every bit of your post is conjecture and nothing more. 2+2=37. None of us has a clue what’s going on. I expect there’ll be an announcement when there’s something concrete to announce. In the meantime your choices are to be patient or to carry on shitting the bed.

Which part is conjecture?

Has anyone thought of the possibility that Wilder wants to be sacked (so he gets a payout) and is pushing the agenda? He does have previous.
It wouldn't be wise. As they could dispute he was in some form of breach and not receive any.

That leaving out the back door with a big payout was not quite what it seems. Because if it was there is no way the Prince would have been so open to welcoming him back. You don't forget something like that easily.

I suspect the real truth of that matter is some sort of middle ground there. There was a fair bit going on behind the scenes. I'm sure he got some payout but not what the prince quoted back in 2021. And he only said what he "asked for" not what transpired.

Weird we haven't yet heard the decision or anything yesterday.
(If there really is one!?)
But the uncertainty needs to be resolved. As it also opens the door for agents to get twitchy about our current prized assets. And other suitors to tap them up so to speak.

But I'd expect over the course of today or weekend we will.

Given that most journalist outlets seem to be favouring the story that Wilder is going that would be my expectation.

But it doesn't sound like it's deffo a done deal.

Even the itk I'm not sure can be sure yet.
I have someone via someone else connected to the club (of sorts) and I don't believe they've heard anything. But then again they don't always hear everything that goes on.

Does feel like we got bored of Wednesday stealing the spotlight with their financial and ownership car crash and thought. Naaah can't have them getting the headlines.

All of it

You don't think there's been a leak?
I'd say, on the balance of probability, it's highly likely there has been a leak. Enough reputable sources are reporting it...

You don't think Wilder is in the dark?
Again, Wit (his best mate that he's on holiday with), seems to be suggesting he is. As is Danny Hall.

I'm commenting on things that are out in the public.

You're jumping to conclusions as usual and as usual the worst possible scenario conclusions

Businesses with major restructures manage to manage information if job losses are occurring. The fact we have about 8 board members, it’s one key individual and it’s playing out in the open is pretty embarrassing IMHO.

If this was SWFC we’d be pissing ourselves at Chansiri, let’s be honest.

They have to sack him now after all this. Anything else it looks even worse.

My pea brained view on all this is they had a meeting in London with Wilder to discuss how they'd like to run the club strategy going forward etc and wanted his input and if it was something he wanted to be part of

They've then had another meeting to discuss his reaction/answers and if they believe that's compatible with what they want.

Wilder and his crew have got whiff of this meeting and decided to leak it as they've jumped to the conclusion that the decision would be to carry on without him.

Hecky had never got a team promoted when we appointed him manager. Just because they haven't gotten a team promoted doesn't mean they're not good managers or not viable options.

In defence of Frank he did take Derby and Coventry to the play offs and Chelsea to the FA Cup final having been under a transfer embargo all season.

Businesses tend to announce key personnel changes after the event. Maybe there’s nothing to announce? What facts are out in the open?

Well if there’s nothing to announce, this would all be nipped in the bud with a statement supporting CW.

Key personnel don’t tend to be made aware that they may be getting sacked but we’ve not decided yet, before it’s happened.

Have the board issued a statement saying that?

CW seems to have been aware of it.

If you're going to sack someone just do it. Don't give away any hints that you're considering it.

The club has signed a contract with Wilder and he's performed very well. They may have had disagreements about recruitment, but Wilder has the right to speak frankly without fearing for his job.

Decision should be made confidentially and he’s then told of the decision. The fact he’s been made aware and now it’s in the local and national press reflects badly on the club. It’s also a poor way of dealing with any employee.

It'll be about more than just results and recruitment. American businesses like having an image for their brand as it can attract sponsors and further investors. Wilder's "Sausage Roll" pub antics will have been noted. His meltdown during the week from hell including turning on Blades fans, squaring up to Plymouth players will have been noted and I doubt they'll have been happy with it. As others noted in the statement released following the play off final loss, Wilder was not acknowledged so there was an early indication that change might be coming.

This club needs to be brought up to speed with the modern game both on and off the pitch. Wilder, his methods, his recruitment and his tactics are not modern. He's not the exciting manager that he was 10 years ago. He's stuck in his ways and too stubborn to change.
