New Manager ?

As soon as I saw the Pre-season friendlies thread had been frozen I knew something was about to happen.

A new manager may not wish to play York, Chessie, Burton and the Millers.

Obviously forgot his crystal ball when signing Brewster. Should've known about all those future injuries.
All the parties concerned were unlucky with that one.

Except Liverpool

Seems likely he will be off as it’s on mainstream tv and talk sport had a segment on it.

It will be interesting if a new manager came in if the strikers graveyard label disappears.

You never know Cannon could become a super striker next season.

Agreed. Not sacking stuff though is it?
It would be a huge decision to sack the guy who got so close to promotion. I still don't think they'll do it. As you know, I do favour a change of course with a view to a more progressive and forward-thinking club that can make a go of it in the top flight over the longer term. But it's very easy for me to advocate that when it's not my money on the line.

Absolutely fine about opinions regarding how a manager is doing, that is healthy, it’s just the pile on to sack a manager just because everything isn’t perfect that is the issue.
It’s still an opinion though.

One that we know won’t be listened to, nor should it.

Make no mistake, this is an investment for the new board. And they will do whatever they think necessary to protect and (hopefully) advance that investment.

My opinions are known by those who have read them. But like all the others on here, they’re just a fart in a breeze.

Such is life

Player of the season and young player of the season and sold for a profit? Did he need to score a few goals as well?
No, would have been nice if he’d not acted the cunt and engineered a move away though

By the sounds of it, I reckon Cannon should be fired.

I'll get me coat...

The problem with sacking CW or any manager is getting someone who will do a better job. I think we were all I favour of Slav being appointed and look how that turned out. Before CW was appointed in 2015 (or was it 2016) we had had a series of managers most of whom were shit starting with Robson, Blackwell, Weir, Clough, Adkins and probably a few others I have forgotten! Whatever CWs faults he has shown he has an affinity for the club and won us promotions from L1, and Championship.

I hope people using AI realise it's also ingesting every bullshit article spread by these copy-cat sites.

Think with Slav he didn't get the backing he was promised

Whatever your view of CW, the way this has played out in the local and national press is an embarrassment to the club.

It’s not a good look.
I think it’s fairly common for rumours of a managers position being under threat to come out before the sacking.

I think the question is who has leaked it, I doubt it’s from the owners, why would they? so it’s someone internal possibly close to Wilder.

If rumours are right no decision has been made the board will meet to make that decision, why would anything be announced untill the outcome has been decided

Blame the people that leaked it.

I'd bet a good amount of money its not the yanks.

Why are we still indecisive about this almost three weeks after the PO Final? We need to make a fucking decision and move on.

It was bound to leak given our decision making is moving at seemingly such glacial pace whilst other clubs are implementing their pre-season plans.

People take holidays. Always better not to make rash decisions when you can think on a bit first.

Sounds like Wilder is back off holiday today and he's straight into a meeting.

Not a single other club (bar one) played a game as later as we did so it will take us longer than everyone else purely for being in that final.

We’ve signed a player from Plopdiv, organised our pre-season friendlies, yet we can’t meet to discuss the most important job in the whole business for three weeks because of holidays? It’s not reasonable.

Not sure how it works in football but I know my company wouldn't organise a meeting about my future without me being there.

Okay well I would suggest football is different to a normal business. I would also suggest that the majority of companies will have internal discussions about sacking someone before you’re invited. If they say they don’t then there lying
Without a doubt.

What we know so far, either:
1. He's been sacked full comp
2. Mutual per a non promotion agreement
3. Sacked and agreeing comp
4. Pushed into quiting with new model
5. Sat in kitchen with a Peroni laughing
6. Still on holiday laughing
7. All of the above
I love United 🤣
Number 6

Absolutely, Im sure they will have had those meetings but they won't action anything until they can actually meet with the person.

Hence why they waited until CW was back off holiday to bring him in.

I think he has just left for holiday today, believe he was flying out, not sure when he’s due back.

You may be right they may wait until he returns to make it public IF he’s let go. I suspect if the decision is made though they won’t wait until there able to meet him in person, unfortunately
