Honest answer. Putting the history of him scuttling out of the back door with a Aldi bag full of money aside

, Wilder does not have technical and tactical attributes to run a modern state of the art football team that the new owners say they have aspirations to develop.
If they came in with a clean sheet regarding playing and management staff and set up interviews Wilder would not meet their brief (imo). If they had that luxury they would appoint a DoF, head coach and scouting staff to deliver their vision. Begs the question do the new owners have the skills and resources to pick the right man to deliver their vision? They are the enigma, we know Wilder but we don’t know the shadowy new owners.
I worked for an American company for most of my working life and they are good at top to bottom management, no jobs for the old boys or Carothers has always done it that way. It’s boom, boom, bang.
They do use a degree of meritocracy but they set the vision, mission and objectives of the CEO and appoint their man to deliver their vision. Everyone else has to align their goals, roles and responsibilities to theirs or else. They are good at it.
Wilder with his stubborn set ways wouldn't get to the final interview stage so why would they want to keep him?
As stated above the new owners are the enigma. From what we know there are a few prominent front men but over 100 Co owners / investors. I wanted a single toward thinking owner because I don’t believe in running a football club by committee. But we are where we are.
The new owners have made one mistake already, extending Wilders contract. Or have they? Who knows there might have been a big bonus for achieving promotion and an optional severance clause for failing. Another attribute of American business.
If they don’t have a get out clause they are about to make a second big mistake by putting a Ford engine in a Rolls Royce and hoping it runs better.
My money is on him staying but with an overlord (mistake, will just be conflict). But I’ll be delighted if by the end of this week we announce his mutual departure (and he deserves a good pensioning) and the announcement of a DoF who will within days announce a new Head Coach.
With all the distractions and shenanigans over in S6 now is the time to get the news out there!
An afterthought, I wouldn’t be against Wilder having some role in an advisory capacity but I don’t think he would work well as a team.
