New kit by March then?

We should all be able to vote for our favourite kit of the last 125 years - whichever gets the most we should use the design.

Lace up collar home for me from about 92/93 and Yellow and Burgandy away from 81.
Agree about the home one but I think my favourite away one was the navy blue one with the purple & green stripe.

As long as the home shirt next season looks like this I don't care..

Probably taken in the opening game of the 1973/74 league season at home to Burnley. We lost 2-0

It just says it's going to be available for the fans to buy, it doesn't say it's our new kit or that we'll be playing in it.

No manufacturers logo either, looks like it will be a "toffs" type of shirt for the fans only, doesn't look like a playing shirt at all.

Yeah it'll be one of those shirts you pay 30£ for, wear once, wash cold and can't wear again

It looks horribly cheap

I wondered whether this kit would be cleared by the FA to be worn on the official anniversary game on the 22nd March however I see that 125 years ago when The Football League as we know it began, our competitors Wolves actually played in a red and white striped kit, this came after a blue and white striped kit with an orange and blue one before finally settling on the colours we now know them for 3 years later.

So I don't know? Does anyone else know whether we will actually play in this kit or whether it is just another novel third kit as the one below was?.

I will be honest when I say that although this is about tradition etc, I don't see us playing in this shirt for long anyway, I know it is our history but I don't really like the stripes in comparison to our modern designs.

And still.........
What with the shirts being offered 10 a penny in the club shirt so early into the season, I still expect to shirt a new shirt coming about soon? Jim sort of hinted that we are agreeing a new deal with a new manufacturer which coincides with our current Macron deal coming to an end. So it will be interesting to see when this one comes into play. At this stage in the season you would imagine that we will see this season out as we are and then the new one would be relaunched in the summer and that the cut price sales were merely to ensure that we cleared as much Macron Stock as we can before changing supplier?

If they're the same as the ones they brought out a few years ago, I can't see the players being too impressed at wearing them. They're made out of really heavy cotton.

I'm guessing they won't be wearing them during the match.

I don't think the are Linz. These ones looking at a big picture despite being very similar in design seem to be made from the usual kit type materials judging by the thickness of the material and with the shine on the material from the light.

Obviously the embroidery on this one is different with the addition of a "125" in gold cotton above the badge, but I think overall the kit is different and a "proper kit" as such.

Also reading comments on The Star website from the club shop manager, It says that if the fans take to the shirt as well as the players have that they expect the shirt to be very popular.

I think the only reason we want to sign Brayford and his beard is so he can model this shirt!

A couple of months ago...

McCabe 'So what's this Brayford like?'
Clough 'He's OK. But he's got this beard and would look great in that anniversary shirt. Think you'll sell thousands.'
McCabe 'Brilliant. Get him signed.'

Another nice move Nige.

I like the fact that Brayford doesn't need any fake facial furniture to look the part, the other lads should learn a lesson there.

I hope these are one offs, I like our proper red and white stripes too much to switch it out for an entire season. Southampton switched to a gimmick shirt and now they seem stuck with an all red kit - which is awful IMO, and that's before we start thinking about Cardiff...

Plus if we are switching to adidas, I'd like to see what they come up with for a traditional United red and white stripes kit (black shorts, white socks of course), should be decent, looking at what they've done for Sunderland and Stoke (shirts anyway) in the last few seasons. I might even buy one.

Looks like they ran out of false moustaches!
Agree with bornablade - Brayford looks in his element. Hobnail boots optional I take it?
