Saw this on Football League World. Not sure how reliable it is, but it says that Diego is set to sign a 3-year agreement with the Blades. Can anyone add to this? If this has been reported elsewhere, apologies.

Excellent if true. I'm a big fan of Diego and think Clough did him a disservice last season the way he treated him.

His attitude could maybe be worked on slightly but the lad has clearly got some talent.

I'd guess that they've not got a clue.

I heard that Adkins likes the look of him, but then again so did clough.

Personally I'd rather the hard working players got their chances, whoever they are.

I guess we'll see with this one but I'm reckoning that Juventus and Sunderland haven't responded to his agents voicemails

I think that young master Diego and his confidants appear to have hit a career wall. As you say, the draw of a prem team or Italian giant seems to have waned, so perhaps Adkins is doing as he's repeated, everyone has a clean sheet and will be judged as of now.

I'm not sure if the draw has, but any interest would appear to have. If indeed there was anything concrete to begin with.
Perhaps they believed the hype... Even though the song says not to. They clearly didn't listen to the song.

Always listen to the song

Good luck to him. Whenever I've seen him he's grafted as well as showing talent. Not sure it'll be enough but we may get to see it unfold here and not elsewhere.

Love it how the agent gets battered when all that happened, in short, was Clough 'didn't like' him resulting in other clubs making enquiries for when his contract came up.

In other news Nigel Clough is to blame for the Euro crisis, flooding in Aberdeen yesterday and recently discovered he was behind 9/11

Not seen enough of him playing to have an opinion myself but he hardly set the world alight while at York or Northampton.

Nah. He's just to blame for a few good cup runs, getting us out of the mess he inherited, not doing enough time at the training ground to make us a Championship Club and mishandling potentially useful players like Butler, Collins, Doyle, Diego, Scougall, McNulty and co.

The talk , spin , rumours , are over . Young Diego has now got to walk the walk with feet and brain . Lets see if he can now live up to the hype , and does what he is paid to do . Play football . If successful, he will save the club some money on further recruitment . If it works out , both him , club , and fans are in a win , win situation.

Maxster?

Careful Dec, there are Max guardians on the forum. If a word is said out of place they begin by calling said poster a cunt, after that it's every man for himself

Haha it's not him this time it's me and you can all have your doubts but think it is going to be announced at around 4pm Monday but could make the announcement Tuesday. Also there is a transfer story by me tomorrow which confirms a signing that will take place this week as well as two new contracts. Suggest you have a look at The72 from around 10:00 am tomorrow.
By the way if the announcement is after Tuesday then come and have a giggle by all means but Diego has definitely signed a new deal.

On the other side of the coin , you could say young Diego , did himself , Clough and club a disservice last season.

At a higher level , lets see how Liverpool treat there young want away starlet .

6 of one , half a dozen of the other .

Agree, not sure he's as good as he and his agent think. Don't get me wrong, I hope he settles down and has a long and successful career with us, but doing all this business in the press has done him no favours at all.

I must have missed all the in-depth Diego interviews "in the press".

If he's any good we'll know within the two years contract. That's a lot better than finding it out when another club has the contract.

What are the chances? 50/50 maybe; he's a young lad but he has talent and may have picked a positive, encouraging manager.

Nobody should read anything into him "not getting on with Nigel Clough" though and should not hold it against him forever, there were a few others after all.

Apparently being the key word. The72 is another FLW - a channel for volunteer writers to put content up with zero actual sources. I would treat both with a large dose of scepticism.

Yeah according to the most reliable source since tribal football

Yeah sorry I hadn't come across this site before so didn't know how reliable it was.
