Well with each result the tension is bringing....

This poll is if we LOSE to Peterborough.

No.

I'm sticking with, give him 6 games with a much fitter squad. That'll take him to just before Xmas, which i believe is the right time to judge.

Cue Disagreement! :D

well we appear to be using Lourdes as our physio room at the moment. injuries, schminjuries when we're talking about selling cotterill....

Yep, about where I stand, unless of course we crumble to a thrashing on Saturday !

Same as Sotonblade and Jim he needs to have a fair shot with a much fitter and full strength squad if he can't prove himself after that he needs to go.

I've gone for "no" but only because I don't think that should be the only deciding factor. The nature of the defeat would however have a huge impact on my feelings. A lack-lustre performance, zero shots on target, no more injury problems etc. etc. then yes, he should be sacked. We should be utterly fired up for a must-win tomorrow and if we're not, it'll speak volumes.

Posters keep saying Blackwell should have a fair crack at it with a fully fit squad, which is fair enough but are you meaning that you'll only start to judge him when we have no injuries or are you waiting for particular players to come back before you begin your judgement.

Im only asking as I think we're only really missing a fit left back and Monty, I cant think of anyone else that I would regard as possibly being pivotal to the team??

And in other breaking news sales of slip on shoes have gone through the roof in preparation for the weekends riots.

You might want to keep your receipts if we win lads, but hey theres always next week.

FAO SWISS BLADE.

I lay down a challange to you again.

Can you find a better sample of Blades fans than this? I've asked you the questions on several occassions and you've shied away from this. But if this vote shows that most fans want Blackwell out if we lose to Posh (and I suspect it will) will you accept that most fans are not behind Blackwell and want him out.

If not, will you suggest a better sample of the population of Blades fans that we can look at to get poplular opinion?

Unless this vote reaches a couple of thousand entries then it's not a decent sample size. This board gets far more posts during unhappy times, which implies to me that people come on here to rant and let off steam, whereas during happy times, they get on with their lives.

They may rant more when they're unhappy, but I believe the visiting numbers would still remain the same.....

Perhaps Linz/Foxy could give us some info regards this?

It doesn't really matter what the sample isize is Highbury (within reason - say over 200) as long as the sample is representative of the true Blades poplulation. It's not perfect, but other than you standing at the gate on the kop, me standing at the gate on the South Stand and Swiss at the John Street asking people there and then should we sack Blackwell if we lose I can't think of a better sample. Can you Highbury?

As for your point in Italics, maybe it's roughly the same for numbers on the site, but less people feel the need to bote when they are less frustrated. I'd argue that this site represents a good sample representive sample of the Blades poplulation.

Come on people, get voting!

well it isn't broadly representative is it? There's only one or two illiterate numpties on here for a start. Do the same poll on BM and you'll probably get different results (even more antiblackwell I'd hazard)

Why not highbury?

Are you implying there are a large number of United fans that are illiterate? Or that don't use the internet or forums. And why would their opinion be different to literate Blades who use the internet? Not having a go, just curious.

I asked you the question; can you suggest a better sample? I open this question up to everybody. Can anyone suggest a better sample than this poll for getting Blkades opinion on whether Blackwell should be sacked (if we lose to Posh) or not???

I see Swiss Blade is remaining quiet.

Well there isn't one, is there? It doesn't mean we should take the results of this one as a true representation of all Blades' opinions, just because there isn't anything else to go on.

When you're at the game I think you can get a feel for the crowd. As I've said on a few occasions, reading this board and listening to P&G you get the impression that all Blades are doom and gloomers. It's a refreshing experience actually getting into the ground where its less negative and certainly less vitriolic and hateful to players and management.

The best sample of opinion is and always will be the 20,000 Blades fans at Bramall Lane. I think I've only heard one "Blackwell Out" chant at the Lane all season and it was quickly drowned out.

There will no doubt be a few more anti-Blackwell chants if we're losing on Saturday but a lot depends on the performance. If we're piling on the pressure, creating chances, hitting the woodwork and get caught on the break by a sucker punch that's very different to playing rubbish all game and being soundly beaten.

The crowd will judge, as they always do, based on what they see on the day. Any other polls are completely irrelevant IMHO.

Completely agree. I don't really understand where the lad is coming from. If the crowd want Blackwell out they'll turn en masse, if they don't they don't.

For the record, most Blades don't use the internet message boards - I just do to take the edge of my general euphoric and positive outlook on life ;) I'd say of all the samples, the demographic of people on here would be extremely homogenous.

Southall and Bramley thanks for your contributions.

Southall I think you are slightly missing the point. How do you know that the majority of those 20k Blades fans are behind Blackwell and don''t want him out? It's impossible to tell. I'm sure that there will be losts of fans that want rid of Blackwell who will be cheering the Blades on on Saturday! I can't make it on Saturday, but even though I want rid of Blackwell I'd get behind the team. I shall be at Bristol next week and if KB is still in charge I will sing my heart out and cheer the Blades. Hence I don't think you can base people being behind Blackwell on the atmosphere.

Bramley I'll tell you where I am coming from. My personal opinion is that the majority of Blades fans want Blackwell to leave the club. I can't prove this of course, but I used the last poll 'sack him or back him' as evidence to support my argument. I argued that the poll (which overwhelmingly showed Blackwell should be sacked) was a representative sample of Blades fans. Swiss Blade disagreed with me and said (somehting similar to Southall) that the atmosphere at the match showed that Blades were behind Blackwell. I don't agree with this (for reasons steated above). I then challenged Swiss Blade to find a better sample of Blades fans that showed fans were behid Blackwell. He has not come back to me. Hence I asked the wider forum.

I don't want to sound like a broken record. A few have grimbled about me constanting calling for Blackwell out and hence I am going to keep stumf (for now). I justed wanted to explain.

Maybe not illiterate as they can obviously read. Judging by the discourse on Bladesmad however, writing does appear to be a problem.

I'm not sure why the failure to come up with a better representation, means that this poll is the best sample. All datasets have inherent flaws. There is no perfect representation of sampling Blade's fans opinions other than doorstopping all of them and demanding a response.

This poll is too black and white anyway. What if you're a bit well, meh? You'd be unlikely to vote on a poll that doesn't have 'I don't give a shit' as an option.

I myself, think Blackwell has laid the foundations for his own demise with the injuries excuse. Once they're all back we'll see if the results improve. I'm prepared to give until the New Year to turn things around (but no longer). Does that mean i'm a happy clapper backer? No it doesn't. I don't agree with the tactics, but until this recent run of form the results were fairly agreeable.

But then i don't go to Bramall lane every week. Maybe my opinions would change somewhat if i did spend £100 for a day out to watch them every week. Maybe not.

Edit: I accidentally clicked on Yes, which put another % on the Blackwell out column

Like it, thats funny. lets start distributing that special red white and black candy round the rest of the Blades. Me first, me first, then the Blackwell haters they may just love him after that.

For a gorilla you write far too much although mostly with out to much judgement on others. I like to read what you've put but get bored easily so dont always take it in the right way coz its a bit too long.
Oh and watch your order of sentance if PINCHY the language policeman is about.;)

sorry for the ignorance but whats meh? that may be me.
I do give a shit but wont vote simply because me non voting and viewing the post makes it non representative because I have an opinion that i may not wish to discuss. The post is only representitive of those who have that direct opinion.
I'm not a happy clapper either.

meh = total apathy ie: not giving a shit.

Albino gorilla's are smarter than the average gorilla (the yogi's of the ape world ;) ). And yeah I tend to ramble a lot (sometimes cohesively and other times not) and I guess it comes out in my posts!?
