I have always thought that clubs should only be allowed to use their home colours as trim on away shirts, but of course this way they can get in a third kit (which we are having according to one poster). I even think there was one season where Newcastle's away kit was predominantly black, I don't believe it was ever used but the third kit was!
There was the classic occasion where the Fowls were playing away at Newcastle (about 1995) and the league told them that neither their blue and white home shirt or their black with yellow pinstripe away shirt would be suitable to play against the Barcodes. So Puma came up with the genius idea of a pale grey shirt with black pinstripes. Not at all like black and white stripes. Newcastle had to wear their all-blue away kit. Idiots.
