New Away Kit?

I have always thought that clubs should only be allowed to use their home colours as trim on away shirts, but of course this way they can get in a third kit (which we are having according to one poster). I even think there was one season where Newcastle's away kit was predominantly black, I don't believe it was ever used but the third kit was!

There was the classic occasion where the Fowls were playing away at Newcastle (about 1995) and the league told them that neither their blue and white home shirt or their black with yellow pinstripe away shirt would be suitable to play against the Barcodes. So Puma came up with the genius idea of a pale grey shirt with black pinstripes. Not at all like black and white stripes. Newcastle had to wear their all-blue away kit. Idiots.

Looking at the Macron website they do make some very nice simple kit designs, both the Napoli kits from this season are great. When it comes to us though, Macron seem to over engineer the shirts to a ridiculous extent. Maybe they believe we'll see the shirt as better value for money if it has more colours and fabrics on it...

If we could have something simple like the Netherlands away kit (except with red instead of orange on the shoulder say) I'd be happy. Unfortunately we'll end up with something white or yellow with loads of contrast patches and piping that looks like it was designed by a six year old.

I was at that game, courtesy of a free ticket. It was confusing when the teams came out. It was in September 1993 I think. There was a happy ending - Wednesday lost 4-2 having been 2-1 up.

As you say, that kit was specifically designed to wear against Newcastle.

trivia time: how many points did United earn wearing our black and white striped away kit?

I have it on VERY good authority that not only are we having a new 'away' kit this year but there's to be a third kit too o_O

UTB!

Did we ever play a match in the grey and lime green 3rd kit we had a couple of years ago?

That's right - the point at Charlton was the only one.

I liked that shirt, until I got it. The fit around the neck was terrible. Far too wide.

He waited until you'd gone and told me (amongst many other things) it was Orange.

If anyone wants Simon McCabes pin no - PM me.
