Saw this myself earlier, can't see the logic in it at this time of the season, let's just play the season out, because if it's true that's what Adkins is doing writing it all off..

I'd agree. If this is true, it shows that the board are backing the manager rather than the players (bit of a change, I think). If what I hear regarding his transfer targets are true, I hope he gets further backing through the summer.

Sorry to keep probing but do you mean the old Div 1 and 2 or legue 1 and 2?
Either way I can't get too excited, the majority of players he's brought in are from teams above us, bleeding Hammond is from the top of the pile..

I never thought I'd say this (my dad still says where you get your players from is where you'll end up) but I like the sound of that, as long as they truly are young, hungry and show plenty of potential.
 
The majority of players like that will be under contract though, and if they're half decent they'll be expensive. So I hope he's looking at plenty of free agents too. We can't be paying a fee for every player. Just not realistic.

If they have fucked Collins off then it shows Clough was right to drop him totally.

Strange thing is why Clough put Collins on the retained list or did we have to exercise the option of an extra year?

I mentioned this last week, but i got the impression from Phipps' email that they blamed Clough for the fall out with Collins and Butler

It came from the guy on VIP who broke the news about Baxter 2 days before it was in the domain - I sincerely hope he's right on this - someone claimed he's not got owt wrong in the past.

If he's right I will be celebrating one of the biggest shit houses this club has ever employed fucking off!

He is the last of the relegation brigade of 2011 and a player who should not have been on the retained list.

Clough didn't retain him. It was widely stated that his contract had a year option that either the club or the player could invoke and I believe Collins took it.

The 3 men Mcabe Morgan Collins had all been here through that era, Morgs was a great captain but he was clearly not ruthless enough as a manager himself or in letting Clough and later Adkins the poison within the playing staff.
