Neal Maupay

Probably 2 reasons - first McCabe has simply never had the levels of cash that some owners have and second, we were relegated from the PL the season BEFORE the big TV money came in.
And despite that, Villa's spending nearly fucked them up:

"Xia is doing everything possible to keep hold of the club he purchased in 2016.
He has invested over £150million and is desperately seeking ways to continue funding it.
On Wednesday it’s understood that he has a £6million loan approved which helped cover the outstanding tax bill and some of the other running costs.
That money will help keep Villa going for the next 30 days or so but then the problems begin again."

How old is that article? I thought villa got promoted, what did I miss?

To try and get this thread back on track whilst trying to avoid merging the 'movement' one, this new (maybe fake) Cadette says we are now closer to Mcburnie then the we are Maupay as we haven't met Brenfords valuation for him as yet.

Definitely fake

Fake Cadette. Watch out for cheap imitations

This time last year, for our promotion season, we had made one loan signing.

The championship is a different ball game all together we are in the Premier League now.

And after the last time we were in the Premier League I worry that lightning is going to strike twice and that we wont see any real investment in the squad.

I hope McCabe and the Prince prove me wrong and back Wilder with a competitive budget I would gladly eat some humble pie.

It depends where you enter. I flew to Dublin last year and had to go through passport control, even though I flew from Birmingham. But when I got back to UK I didn’t go through passport control. Which I thought was odd. Having said that you could go via NI and there would be no controls. Perhaps someone could elaborate?
Went to dublin by ferry on the weekend you just need to show ID no need for a passport.

Hmm, go on then, for Donaldson despite the big Jamaican flag that he always has against his name.

Ireland isn't a foreign country? That would be really handy for Brexit, perhaps we should tell the Irish to be part of Britain - problem solved ;)
I’ll bring it up.

I wouldn’t take anything a clearly fake poster looking for bites / taking the piss says tbh.

You don’t post with an identical user name with a . After it, without knowing what you’re doing tbf.

Eire you do.

I have been to ROI twice. Didn't need a passport

Even on the UK side to board?

I fly fortnightly the past 3 years. Granted you might only need ID on the Irish side (you don't need anything UK Side when arriving), but I believe a passport is always requested on the boarding side.

Went to Sligo in 1983 and I was in Ireland for 1 week in 2003 (Dublin,Kerry and Cork) sailing from Liverpool. Maybe it has changed since?

Donaldson is from Bradford.
I get where Silent Blade is coming from and it makes me wonder if the strategy is about getting players who easily culturally fit with each other or whether it is just coincidence.

My point is that silent is stretching his point just a little. Donaldson, qualifies for Jamaica but is from Bradford, Lavery, qualifies for NI but was born in Canada and sounded Canadian. Irish players - hey that used to be part of the UK, not really foreign are they?

What next? Aaron Mooy , Australia isn't really abroad is it, just look at the flag (it's got a union jack on it and being at Huddersfield makes him English anyway ......

I’d expect that the vast majority of signings, across football, are made after this date.

Relax. :)

You don’t consider Luke Freeman “real investment”?

No matter how much you dress it up we are run by clowns that put a dampener on our promotion with their pathetic bickering which has landed them in court.

The 'clowns' kept us in business in L1 when we lost millions every year.

No need to show any gratitude though, as it was their 'job'.

And for whatever reason it is taking forever to assemble a team.

Fact! - We'd have a much better squad to kick off on the 10th of August, if only we'd signed 4 or 5 already.

Well we would not have been relegated had they invested in the first place.

Go to the general discussion then. Dont hijack this thread. I wish I was a mod on here . There certainly wouldnt be people going off topic.

I wish I were. I’d delete all the drivel. We’d be down on volume about 99% but there would be a corresponding increase in quality...

With what?. How much were you offering? We were relegated due to Warnock’s inadequacy at the top level and an odd penalty given away by the Everton player.

KM has ‘invested’ over £100m in our club. He’d be perfectly entitled to demand a substantial repayment from our £100m windfall, but I’ll tell you now, he won’t.
