Cut you a bit of slack pal, here's some advice.

As you are new here, what we usually do that you might not realise is keep the threads down, milultiple threads on the same subject (like this one) have to be merged and it costs the moderators needless time, just comment in the Maupay thread that already exists..

You will find that we've been linked or spoke about almost all current players that we've either missed out on, or have been on the radar at some point.

So, don't start a thread on Dan Burn..

It's likely there might be one already 😉
He's not new here Tezza.
He'll be gone again before the start of the season most likely, like his previous alias'.

Remember Brian Badonde? Chabuddy G?

I doubt the club would ever consider Pukki now we've let sharp go, similar age, attributes etc. Maupay is in upgrade on Pukki but he just doesn't excite me. Would rather Jebbo/Ousala got game time as I really don't think he's that good personally. Seen him miss some sitters over the last couple of seasons & he doesn't create enough to make up for lack of goals & chances.

Pukki never fitted the prince's blueprint due to his age...

Think Maupay would be a really good signing.

We're going to have to fight for everything at the top of the pitch and he gives you a bit of that.
Would work well with Ndiaye but it's more likely he'll be replacing a bit of what he brought.

Doesn't score as many as you'd like at PL level but he does have goals in him.

I'd expect a terrible reaction from a big 6 type team. But we're a newly promoted side. He's done ok at times in the Prem, probably struggled (though Everton are bad) but also got over the top criticism at some points in the Prem also.

As no doubt was discussed years ago, what a replacement he'd be for Billy Sharp. Would hope for relatively cheap perm, personally.

But we've probably asked the same questions to most English clubs about one or two players.

He's clearly a talented player but everything coming out of Brighton and Everton suggests that he's a total cunt. Full of himself and not a team player. It's a big fuck no from me.

My concern is we aren’t a creative side, it’s unlikely we will increase that significantly through ikea bargain range so how effective would he be really

I would love him at the lane, we should have nailed him first time we got promoted.
Very gifted forward who needs games.

We had him lined up for a deal and he was photographed on the pitch at bdtbl and his agent then contacted Wilder and asked for a larger slice of a bigger cake. Wilder told him to do one, we then signed Mcburnie and the rest is as they say history, needless to say it is a pity that Wilder did not advocate the same policy with other signings.

the only argument against us signing him when we were linked before was that he's too similar to what we already had in Sharp and McBurnie offered something different. if we can get him in on loan and play to his strengths he could be the perfect replacement for Billy
The argument against us signing him last time was that he didn't wan't to come/we couldn't afford to change his mind. We missed out on Watkins and Maupey and Wilder thought well fuck it I've got to sign someone so McBurnie will do.

100% agree. I've convinced myself that the key to survival this year is keeping the ball out of our net, not expecting to score our way out of trouble.

They were accounts that had a similar posting style - abrasive, unpopular, uninteresting and a deluded sense of arrogance.

To summarise - they were bellends too.
Oh no I’m unpopular on a football forum, that’s it, I’m crying myself to sleep tonight 😂😂😂

I meant amongst the fan base, I remember being linked with both of them and there was a Maupay vs McBurnie thread on here and most in favour of McBurnie believed Maupay was too similar to Sharp

I rate Maupsy, and I'd be happy if he signed. We need competition all over the pitch and to build a squad. Everton have huge financial problems so there might be a deal to be done here with a double signing of Holgate and Maupay, and not use any loans up.

Big EPL teams are letting players worth millions walk away - and Everton are in that bracket.

Wilder actually wanted Maupay and McBurnie.

Wouldn't be opposed to this. Monitored the 'Grand Old Team' (Everton) forum last season just for the entertainment of watching them all lose their marbles 🤣

Anyway, there was a whole thread on how bad he was, but some acknowledgement that he didn't fit into their style of play (especially under Dyche). FWIW all of their players were shite last season and it was just a completely toxic setting - I feel he has quality and would potentially be a good signing if played/managed correctly. Another slow player though!

Let's be honest, we have no idea how many goals we could expect from Ndiaye.

He might find scoring an issue at that level for all we know.

i wouldnt be against signing maupay either hes not the first decent player to have flopped at everton and given the service think he could get double figures for us in the premier league also got a suspicion we could be interested in tom davies as well
