I can't get my head around people being more loyal to Ndiaye than their own national side.

I don't mean this as a huge criticism, but Ndiaye will look after himself & his agent before thinking of us. He won't be in a rush to sign a deal out of loyalty to SUFC. If something bigger / better comes along he will jump, just like Ramsdale.

And we will all still be English long after he has left us.

I like the kid. He seems to have a good attitude and he's the type of player you pay to watch, but that's where it ends. If we can't match his wage / career aspirations, that will be it.

Mane now ruled out for the entire tournament No replacement allowed Star boy is going to feature now surely

Just for the sake of transparency, I may have stated I'd like Ndiaye to score 4, make it 5, but then I'm not English.
Given that the two teams are not going to play each other, it's kind of academic.

I’d say it’s odds on that we are going to play each other in the second round.

Never fully understood betting, but if 'odds on' means it's more likely it will happen than it won't happen, I'm not convinced. Will England finish second in their group?

For balance... How about Iliman scores against England but is on the losing side.... That please everyone??? Probably not but its a win win for me....
Nope. We need to stop thinking one of our employees is more important than our national team. It’s embarrassing! We sound like scousers.

The winner of England’s group will play the second place in Senegal’s group, and the winner of Senegal’s group will play second place in England’s group. England should win the group (although by no means guaranteed) and I expect Senegal to finish second behind the Netherlands.

Our national team have been a joke for close on 60 years with the odd flutter of hope
Again We have a manager who is stifling talent with his cautious walking football and 2 holding midfielders one whose played one premiership game this season
Soon as we play a decent team we go into not conceding mode of we’d go for it I’d be more rooting for them as it is I couldn’t care less about them
But no doubt after our 4-1 win in our first game the media and blinkered supporters will be drooling

More importantly he is going up against a manager blade, a reserve goalie and Ampudu, but only 2 out of 3 blades linked teams can progress from the group

England are the strongest side by long way in their group, and Senegal are well behind Netherlands but miles ahead of Qatar and Ecuador, so on paper it's the most likely scenario.

TBH I actually think Senegal will top the group cos the Oranjes are never far away from a monumental fuckup. You've also got the curveball of the host nation in the mix.

All irrelevant to this debate, I agree with your comments but not when we are discussing our apparent excitement of losing to a goal from one of our players.

That'll be where I'm going wrong then as I can't see why Netherlands are considered stronger than Senegal in the first place even without Netherlands ability to implode.

As already said....the better N'Diaye performs them the more likely we'll lose him, so it might prevent us from gaining promotion.
Even if he doesn't play particularly well but scores a spectacular individual goal like away at Fulham last season,
it puts him right in the shop window and he becomes world famous overnight.

and we won't even receive that much of a transfer fee either, as the argument is he's coming towards the latter stages of his contract.

In real terms....it's N'Diaye versus Sheff Utd.
Which one do you have the most loyalty towards and want to succeed the most?

Personally I always put my club before any player.
The way some people are talking, if N'Diaye was sold to Leeds then some of our fans will be trying to buy season tickets for Leeds United.

His contract has 2 years to run we are looking at renegotiating and extending it

If he has a great World Cup and his value goes really high, then that is great news for SUFC. If we go up, he gets offered a vastly improved deal, if he takes it we win.
If we go up and he leaves, we get a fee for him and he helped us go up.
If we don't go up we sell for a fee and go again.
What ever happens, Ndiaye looks like being a great asset to the club.
I wish England well, but I do put club before country.

I've watched Ndiaye week in week out since he made his debut. He gives great value and entertainment and is a player like most at a club you support you are invested in. Even if to a degree you can view them all simply as assets. Don't have any relationship like that with any of the others England players and don't see why I should, just because we have the same passport . Of course I support United bcos it's my local team, but also continue to do so, bcos it's one I've invested in and have an emotional connection. Don't see why I should show anymore loyalty to a 'national side', although I understand why some do. Also guess used to cheering for an underdog.

Lets say he's currently on £10K so we offer to double his contract to £20K.

Surely his agent will just laugh, he could say his valuation is £30 million but after next year he becomes a free agent.
So paying him just £100K over 3 years = £15 million, is an absolute bargain.

Does anyone think we'll smash our salary cap and offer him £100K a week?
Even paying him £100K a week, the deal will still end up being cheaper than what we paid for McBurnie or Brewster.
Due to the Bosman ruling, players nearing the end of their contract hold all the power and are sitting on a goldmine.

We need him to have an "under the radar" world cup then he's seen as a risk at PL level.
Then the best advice for his career development might be to stay with us a few more year. He'll have familiarity and be given a big pay rise.
If he's as good as he thinks he is then his time will come at a bigger club and he'll receive his financial reward.
He needs to be told about the Jordan Slew situation, he left us to chase the big pay rise.
He made loads of money in the short term but his career totally stalled, in restrospect that decision possibly destroyed his career.

This is the most ridiculous comment I've ever read on this forum. That's some feat.

I’ve made a point and supported it with facts,
You’ve made a point but given no supporting evidence or information.

Are you able to discuss why paying N’Diaye £100K a week is ridiculous?
Are you suggesting that when McBurnie and Brewster were at Swansea they were both better propositions than what N’Diaye Is now?

Think you’re being ridiculous if that’s what you think. N”Diaye has far more potential.
Most people on our forum rate N’Diaye much higher than McBurnie or Brewster, so naturally a club is willing to pay more for better players.

You must be on drugs.

We are a championship club. Paying 100k to any player at this level is financial suicide. Pure Wednesday logic.

Hi, I'm the other players in the team wondering why I've being paid 3-4 times less than Ndiaye. Can I have a pay rise please? If not, I want a transfer.

He's a talent, but £100k a week? He's had half a good season at Championship level.
I think Ndiayemania is a bit much amongst our fan base (and social media team).

That’s not my valuation, that’s what many of our fans suggest, when they insist we want 30 million for him or he’s potentially a 50 million player etc. People seem to forget about salary and signing on fees.

The number of times I’ve seen our fans say….we’ve hardly spent anything because player X was a free transfer.
The Prince in one of his interviews explained that although Jags was free he was being paid £50K a week.
