He used to post on Bladesmad as ‘Strapponisjealous’ and was the number one ITKer a one point. He lost his contact and started making things up and it all got a bit heated.

Before he went a bit Walter Mitty he was a great poster. His anti Muslim post are pretty atrocious TBF but if I stopped following blades for their political beliefs I’d have a very quiet timeline.

He went from being a good poster to making ridiculous claims ( houses, cars etc.) about betting winnings on markets you’d be lucky to get £20 on without destroying the odds. They were tips from “Agent Jim” he said and then he went solo. Most of his info then came from the Yorkshire Post. After realising quite a few on BM actually understood how those market works he moved to Twitter where actual knowledge is less important than self adoration.

Give us a wave Magic!

To me, that wouldn’t make any sense from a Man U point of view. Surely they would want to keep their options open for next season.

They won’t be short of loan offers in the summer, so they can wait and decide what is best for them and Deano. After proving himself in the Championship, the preference must be for Premier League football and there obviously is no guarantees of that with us at the moment.

Hendo is a quality keeper but realistically is anyone in the prem going to take him on loan? They all have the funds to spend 10-15 million on a keeper if they need to.

Not saying it’s gonna happen but why wouldn’t they send him back to us in the championship? We’re one of the few clubs with a proper number 2 to push him on.

Do you think that Manchester United see him as being as good as we do?

Genuine question. At our level he’s very good but do you think the powers at be at Old Trafford view him as being a top end European/world keeper? That’s the market they’re shopping in

He could certainly go to any of the promoted teams next seasons and there could be a couple of others who might take him.

If we are interested now in signing him for next season now, then I’m sure we’d still be interested in the summer. I don’t see what Man U have to gain by agreeing to a loan now rather than waiting, unless we are paying an over the odds loan fee maybe?

Fair points - it’s in man u’s interests to wait.

Unless hendo has asked to extend his stay I guess?

Why would we spend this year’s budget on a player we know we’ve got signed up for the rest of the season?

I like Hendo, really rate him and he’s the first player I look for when we score at the Kop end, he really gets us and seems to understand what being a Blade is all about, he’s not the finished article yet and he’s learnt a lot this season. Love to see him grow into being a top keeper while developing with us regardless of us having to offer Man U whatever terms they want for sell ons etc

The difference may be, that Man U have been impressed with how he’s been looked after and his progress and want to tie United to keeping him next year.
This gives the lad consistency and a better chance of being settled and happy, while also giving him a chance of being in the premier league too!
So it’s a win win looking that way.

How are we spending this years budget? Are we paying him next years wages up front as part of the deal?!

I'm hearing from someone who gets most things right Hendo on 4 year contract & A bit harder to believe, Charlie Austin.

Just listemed to Talksport radio and there was a reporter giving the run down on Southampton.

He confirmed that Charlie Austin has been told he can leave.
He said 1 club is interested in buying him, Cardiff
And 3 Championship clubs want him on loan Blackburn, Stoke and Nottingham Forest.

The reporter said Southampton prefer to sell instead of a loan, so Cardiff are currently favourites.
No mention of us being interested in Charlie Austin.

It does seem too good to be true but not impossible.

He’s impossible to buy as our asset exclusively, even with a sell on fee, but what you mention is not beyond the realms of possibility.

This is how I understand the buy back would work (similar to a loan). It would cover his wages and fee. So £3m fee plus £3m wages @ £20k per week for 3 years. At the end of that period (and not before) Man Utd would effectively recall the loan and reimburse us and then sell or use him. If they don’t we’ve got a keeper for £6m, which could turn out to be amazing business or very shit.

Hypothetically, and at his current potential it’s looking like he’d be with us for 3 years and bought back by Man Utd. They then use him or sell him for a profit or we negotiate an additional fee (if we are in the promise land) based on their valuation.

Still got us by the bollocks but we’ve got a top keeper for the remainder of his contract.

Having posted all that, I’m not sure how a contract renewal would work. Basically I have no idea, clinging to it I guess !

It doesn't work like that.

We would buy him and there would be a clause in his contract that would say something along the lines of - Man U can buy back at any time before "x" at a cost of "£x"

It's like a release clause in his contract but only to Man Utd.

Even if we gave him a better contract to warn off other teams, the man U part would remain while ever he is with us up until the date inserted.

They could say £15m at any time before his 25th birthday, for example

It's an investment at the very least. GKs get better with age. He's currently the BEST GK in England's u21 setup. He WILL play for England. How much will stoke get for Butland if sold? £20m+ easily

Exactly. It's incredibly short-sighted thinking to not see the value in going for it if the opportunity is there

The other bit of business is Henderson until the summer of next year on loan. Its already done. Not sure when / if it will be announced but it has 100% happened.
