Who will be first signing?

I hope it'll be harry Soutar. He does fit Wilder's desire to sign injured players, but I'd take a gamble with him anyway.
If Souttar does join I can’t see it being before August. Hes got a couple of weeks at the World Cup, he’ll probably have at least 3 weeks off afterwards and then he’ll be back training.

I still think it’s unlikely we sign him unless it’s a loan, but he definitely won’t be the first through the door.

Cause every night I lie in bed
The brightest red and whites fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see where we start off with kyle , Phillips and Souttar

Poor lad's had enough injuries
Can we just forget about Souttar he's not coming back.
Judging by Wilders interview with Mr Pothole its as we were from last season plus a few Frees and low fee's. Obviously minus at least 1 from Peck, Hamer, O'Hare, Brooks, Seriki.
So lower your sights Blades fans and you won't be disappointed.
Think Jack Robinson instead of Souttar because there's more chance of that happening.

Think Stoke next season if we are lucky.

You're correct.
But
How are we gonna sell STs with that marketing strategy ?
They are so bereft of hope , not even the club can disguise where we're at.
And Rosen grasps at straws in the fanzone , thinking his mention of Billy Sharp might get our chins off the ground 🙄
He'd have more chance announcing that Dore will become a community farm.
At least the veggies could get behind the potato planting 😂
But at least we're in Europe for a 'Beer in Bochum' on Yorkshire Day , 1 August , and that brings joy to my heart 🍻🍺

I think Stoke might push next season under Robins.

It's going to be entirely dependent on what key players leave and how much quality we can bring in. To state the obvious.

And right now we are all speculating as to how good or bad that will be.

We obv ain't gonna be big spenders. But as T-Blade mentioned in a post, the early signs were encouraging from the targets we were looking at.

But like Wilder said, we weren't big spenders before and assembled squads capable of a push.
(Cue the comments Wilder can't sign a player anymore).

If we sold circa £22m in total on a player or two. We may find we can sign one or two on fees upwards of £4-5m.

As it stands the wage bill is way down from last season with the release and return of players like Godfrey, Barry, Ings, Davies, Mee, Jairo, Hjelde, Hoever, Phillips, Ogbene, Phillips, Bindon and Soumare. Id argue we will miss very few of those players and thats 13 biggish to big wages off the bill leaving Wilder to bring his 'own men' in.

Even if we only replace half of those wages that gives us a decent number of loans and frees that we can bring in and Wilder normally excels with those kind of deals.

Let's hope outgoings are minimal (Hamer or Peck)meaning have a decent enough base to build on.

Cooper
Seriki NEW CB, Tanganga, McAllum
Brooks, Peck (Rothwell if he goes) NEW CM, Hamer (or NEW LM)
Bamford Ohare

Plus 5 or 6 other new signings/loans with the likes of Blaster, Burrows, Campbell, Chong, Rothwell, Cannon, One, McGuiness as back up.

Thats a top half championship squad at the very least with the right additions

Selling your best players, only leads to one thing eventually.... relegation, we've been there numerous times over the years sadly 😥

O hare Peck n Hamer won’t be here

Forget Souttar if he has a half decent tournament.

I might question the use of the word 'players' in that sentence.

Amazing the flack that Wilder gets for his signings when you look at the above list that was hoovered up by a poker player using his AI model on a ZX Spectrum.

Half the list the other half Hecky and Wilder

According to the BBC Transfers list, the following have already made an acquisition, since the start of June:

Wolves, Birmingham, Southampton, Bolton, Norwich, WBA, Burnley and Millwall.

Top 20 finish for us?

The transfer window’s been open what? 4 days.

I’m not expecting miracles but moaning about a lack of activity 4 days into the summer window in the middle of a World Cup when most players are still on holiday is ridiculous.

Vast vast majority of transfers happen in July.

Well yeah we’ve been embarrassingly bad and unorganised last few summer windows

Hoping this year will be better.

But still no point in getting wound up about it just yet when most players are still on holiday. Seems to kick into life for most teams first week or two of July.

Agreed, i still feel, although as terrible Selles was last year, the board didn't help him by not backing him. Two signings going into the first game was appalling.

Hopefully we can have 2 or 3 signings wrapped up before pre season. Especially the Phillips one, as if that isn't done then what the hell was the point in releasing Riedewald.

Exactly. He was pretty terrible tactically but he was left with absolute gaping holes in defence and midfield.

Didn’t we start the first game with Norrington Davies and Jack Robinson at CB. One a an actual Cb and the other a left back and both left footers.

Nothing new though for United. Hecky was thrown under the bus in his summer window with the likes of Hamer joining after the season was underway and starting with Bash, Osborn and Norwood in his first prem game.

It suggests it’s not necessarily COH because it was bad before them.

Bettis?

We started with norrington Davies at centre back with Bindon, whilst Robbo was on the bench...

That summer window heading into the prem was abysmal also. The only summer window that was proactive was 2024 under wilder, even that was proactive with frees!!
Hopefully have a few in the door by july 15th
